June Muriel Nesta?

Just asking for a bit of fun, that will most likely be her name. I'm booked in for a section on Monday so we're pretty settled on this name just wanted to canvas some opinions. June is personal for me and my husband (met and married, my birthday, both our star signs Gemini and Cancer are in June and we found out she is a girl in June), Muriel is the guardian angel of the month of June (and Cancer star sign) and my husband's late grandmother's name and Nesta is my late great grandmother's name.

Muriel is more based off a dead relative but I do love the connection with June as well. I like meanings in things I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am being serious. I really like it.

InkyGrail · 10/11/2018 13:34

So is she due in June then?

InkyGrail · 10/11/2018 13:34

Ignore me, I clearly have comprehension issues today! You say in your OP. Apologies.

happypoobum · 10/11/2018 13:36

Not names I would choose but if she really hates them she can just change them as an adult.

ButchyRestingFace · 10/11/2018 13:38

June is passable, so long as it's balanced out by 1/2 other 'acceptable' names. 'Muriel' and 'Nesta' ain't it.

I loathe trendy, modern names, so it'd be a resounding NO to Juno.

Do you like 'Elizabeth'? If you slung that in there somewhere, then your daughter would have a name with multiple contractions - she'd be bound to like one.

Whereas I can't really see a way to shorten June, Muriel or Nesta.

BG2015 · 10/11/2018 13:38

I don't like the name June personally but it's your baby so you can give her any name you like.

Middle names are by the by.

RJnomore1 · 10/11/2018 13:38

Could it be June nesta Muriel?

June is a lovely name and a lovely satisfying word and I think due a revival.

ButchyRestingFace · 10/11/2018 13:39

So is she due in June then?

Bit of a risk if you're dead set on that name and the due date is early/late June...

InkyGrail · 10/11/2018 13:40

Right, I'm less confused now.

The thing is the meanings you are giving to these names are not based on her, are they? They are based on you and your husband. Muriel the guardian angel won't be the one for her birth month if she is being born next week. You and your husband met in the month of June, your birthday, your star signs etc - again not specifically about her as an individual but about you two.

So - well she has to live with this name and it seems you are only considering what meaning it gives to you as her parents, not to her as she grows. Go ahead if you want to but don't you think it might be nice to choose a name for her rather than for yourselves?

HauntedPencil · 10/11/2018 13:42

There Is absolutely nothing wrong with June.

abacucat · 10/11/2018 13:44

With middle names call your DD what you like. Lots of people have "embarrassing" or family middle names, that is not unusual. So the real question should be - is June nice for a baby girl?

Bugjune · 10/11/2018 13:47

June is a wonderful name.

CaMePlaitPas · 10/11/2018 13:48

I like June! Congratulations and good luck with the birth x

didofido · 10/11/2018 13:49

By the time a 2018 new-born is a teen I predict those names will be trendy. As the saying is "when the last great-aunt with that name is dead - behold, the name is fashionable again".

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 10/11/2018 13:50

Surely if you believe in ridiculous things like astrology and guardian angels you should be choosing names related to her star sign and birth month?

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 10/11/2018 13:51

All I'm seeing is June Whitfield and as for Muriel Confused
Don't do it OP.

June is lovely!

Middle names are rarely used IRL unless they're for a form or something so middle names don't mean much except to you and her.

I love Nesta, not keen on Muriel.

I'd just go with June Nesta TBH

iwillkeepthishouseclean · 10/11/2018 13:55

June's ok it's the rest I'd have an issue with what is wrong with just June ..

BertrandRussell · 10/11/2018 13:57

I like June. But the theee names together is a bit of a vintage mouthful I would replace Muriel with something else.

BertrandRussell · 10/11/2018 14:00

Bit dubious about Muriel being June's guardian angel -in what tradition?

Twisique · 10/11/2018 14:00

I would change the order to June Nesta Muriel
