Our last name is Smith, which do people prefer?

Thanks!

Christian

Christian.

Hart Smith sounds like someone who mends hearts... like blacksmith, silversmith etc. I think Smith is actually quite a hard surname to get names to match with (spoken with experience!)

Pemba · 09/11/2018 15:55

Hart is not a first name (or shouldn't be). Because it sounds like 'heart'. (And rhymes with 'fart'? You know what kids can be like!)

I do like the sound of Christian, but I don't know whether I'd really want to be labelled with a name so obviously associated with one religion. What if when he's grown up he is a strong atheist or becomes a Muslim or something? So I think Christopher would be a safer bet. (Yes I do realise that still has 'Christ' in it, but Christopher seems not such a label somehow.)

I don't think that Chris Smith sounds great, sounds like Christmas with a full mouth Grin

Christian. Hart could be a middle name though. Or ditch the h and have Art as a nickname for Arthur.

Christian. Hart is an embarrassing name to give a boy.
