Running out of time boy names

I've found it so difficult to choose a male name, nothing grabs me. We like fairly traditional names but not too popular. Middle name preferably George (family link) which is a bit too popular as a first name for me. DH doesn't have many strong opinions on it, if I really like something he'll be fine.

I don't mind Jude or Jasper but neither go with George and DH says Jasper is pretentious but suggested Julian as an alternative?! (Which I hate).

I did like Dexter, but not sure if too American, not sure we'll ever see a prime minister Dexter etc. I don't like really out there names, apple, sailor, meadow etc and it's important it works for an adult not just a child.

Surname is hyphenated F-S (both two syllables) , so not sure we could use an F name (FFS) , I almost wish I hadn't kept my surname as I quite like it as a first name (Fraser) .

Girl name I'd picked before 20wk scan (Tabitha) if that helps. I've got less than six weeks to go...

Help!

I don't think George is that common - I only know one and he's about six. If you like it, use it! How about:

Lucas George
Samuel George
Alexander George
Alistair George
Dominic George
Thomas George

The names I hear all the time (Herts/Essex) are Hugo, Max, Oscar, Hugo, Arlo and Hugo .

We have William George

George is classic and if it's good enough for kings and future kings, presidents of the USA, chancellors of the exchequer, footballers, pop stars, and so on, you can't go wrong.

Similar to Fraser, what about Fletcher?

slappinthebass · 05/11/2018 22:02

I was going to suggest Julian . I really like it and think it's similar to Jude, but I hate Jules as a nickname.

Rupert would go really well with Tabitha.

Rory is worse than Rupert to pronounce for many!
