Predictions for Harry and Meghan's baby name?

As this little one will be far down the pecking order, they will have the freedom to go a bit more off piste. Like Andrew did with Beatrice and Eugenie - royal names, but not a George, Edward or Elizabeth.

Diana has to be in there somewhere if it's a girl. Think we can safely assume Thomas out of the running for a boy...

I predict:

Girl: Grace Diana or Helena Diana
Boy: Christian or Matthew

(will probably be totally wrong and they'll name it Aquamarine Byzantium or Hercules Antarctica).

It won't be traditional - MM needs to remind everyone she won't bend to Royal rules.

SemperIdem · 25/02/2019 22:46

Doriana?

I know MM is American but a Twilight style Renesme name mashup is possibly a bit much.

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 25/02/2019 22:48

Doriana is horrific.

Ikeameatballs · 25/02/2019 22:55

I think
John nn Jack
Robert
Tobias

Maya
Lydia
Helena
Penelope
Esther

VelvetPineapple · 25/02/2019 22:59

I actually think MM is enough of a fame seeker to just outright name the kid Diana.

LaurenOrdering · 25/02/2019 23:04

Eliza or Sophia.
Ferdinand or Christian.

Didyeeaye · 26/02/2019 00:29

My mum would probably cry if they named a DD Diana (she loves princess Diana)
I reckon it will be traditional but without any obvious royal ties.
Perhaps, Emily or Benjamin?

Lovingbenidorm · 26/02/2019 00:32

Elvis
Shanika

ChangoMutney · 26/02/2019 00:40

John for a boy and Alexandra for a girl, I think they’ll go traditional.

Bussex Doriana Mabelthorpe

For a girl any of the following night appear as middle names;
Loyce (Doria's middle name),
Frances (Diana's middle name & also Diana's mother) or
Jeanette (Doria's mother)

I can't see Doria and Diana both being used together.

For boys, they'll probably have to look more to Harry's side for inspiration.

SurgeHopper · 26/02/2019 00:50

Nah, it'll be something totally off the wall.

It's a girl and she'll be called something unique.

KitTheCat · 26/02/2019 00:53

Colin

Alan

Sharon
Tracey

SurgeHopper · 26/02/2019 00:54

They've recently had a trip to Morocco, the baby may have a North African inspired name?

Minglemangle · 26/02/2019 01:00

Monty
Hector

Rosa
Doria

Diana chose william and Harry while Charles wanted arthur or albert which Diana thought was too formal. Will and Harry are such normal names in a classroom. You wouldn't think regal. George is more regal but charlotte and Louis sound quite normal. Think its weird that Louis is Georges middle name. I'm really careful not to do middle names i would want for my next child. Low ranking members of the royal family have names like for girls rose, ella and amelia, and for boys freddie, sam and charlie which are more normal and nice they could go for. If they have a girl it would be lovely if the name starts with a D and ends with an A as its a tribute to both their mums. Delila would be lovely and lily could be a nickname. its also a tribute that to the queen as she was called lilibet by family. Daisy is another possibility thats a D name. Harry was straight away named Henry to be known as Harry while George as never been Georgie or Charlotte known as charley or lottie but it was always Harry. I think their child might have a less formal name too. Prince Edwards children Louise and James are more normal. Their son could be James to be known as Jem, Charles to be known as Charlie or Samuel to be known as Sam while their daughter could be Annabel to be known as Annie, Rosa to be known as Rose or Mary to be known as Molly. Traditional names like Sam, Ben and Joe, Hannah, Delilah and Rachel which aren't regal but are biblical could be a possibility

dolphin50 · 26/02/2019 01:36

think Delila would be perfect as its a tribute to their mums, is biblical and similar to the queens childhood nickname of lilibet. wish i could suggest it to them lol

dolphin50 · 26/02/2019 01:37

both harry and meghan had very close relationships with their mum growing up and Delilah sounds like both Diana and Dora. D and A at beginning and end

MercyBodle · 26/02/2019 01:37

For a girl I could see a strong and sleek, and currently stylish name, that also has a history of strong women:

Ada
Edith
Matilda
Harriet
Bridget

Edith and Matilda are both early royal names too, and Bridget is another (Princess Bridget of York, Edward IV daughter) and means strength. Ada as a strong women's movement early leader, and Harriet of course as a nod to Harry (and ref to Harriet Beecher Stowe). Or Harriet in the middle. Also wouldn't surprise me if they skipped the Diana/Doria thing altogether but did some more obscure reference to one or both: eg Edith Elizabeth Daisy with another D name to refer to the grandmothers.

For a boy:
John 'Jack'
Edward/Edmund 'Ted' 'Teddy'

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/02/2019 02:00

Dioria

ElektraLOL · 26/02/2019 02:14

There is no way the kid will be called Delilah 😂 not with that Tom Jones song.

dolphin50 · 26/02/2019 02:15

DELILA

ElektraLOL · 26/02/2019 02:16

I agree with Mercy. Actually people on MN did accurately predict the names of the Cambridge's kids so it's likely to be someone on this thread.

ElektraLOL · 26/02/2019 02:17

Yes but dolphin, the spelling is irrelevant really. It's perception isn't it?
