Thoughts on the name Cece? What do people think of it as a stand alone name and then also what options are there for it to be a nickname?

Thanks in advance

Is it pronounced see see? I like it, it’s cute.

adaisy1394 · 03/11/2018 19:48

Inspired from new girl by any chance? I love it, I love Gigi too

KeysHairbandNotepad · 03/11/2018 19:49

Lovely.

Stuckforthefourthtime · 03/11/2018 19:49

Love it as a nickname for Cecilia or Cecily.
Not so much as a full name, as it's cute for a child but an adult might want the option of something longer. Still pretty though!

MarshaBradyo · 03/11/2018 19:49

Cecelia is an option

I like it

erniewise · 03/11/2018 19:50

It's cute but I would see it as a nickname, perhaps for Celia, Cecilia or Celeste. Or if the child has a first and middle name both starting with the letter 'C' e.g. Catherine Claire. I like it, but would want to give the option of a more grown up name for the future.

Didyeeaye · 03/11/2018 19:50

Agree with PP. Cecily or Cecilia are lovely and Cece is cute nickname but not a great full name

Magik1 · 03/11/2018 19:51

It’s lovely 😊

MarshaBradyo · 03/11/2018 19:53

Whoops I spelt it wrong I meant as below

atomicfission · 03/11/2018 19:55

It could probably be short for lots of things if you wanted it to, like Alicia or Celia or any of the above.

I think it's cute but (like PP) prefer it as a short form.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/11/2018 19:58

Cece Peniston... Love it!!

Dollymixture22 · 03/11/2018 19:58

I love the kids song and love the name.

It’s also a character in new girl isn’t it?

Justbackfromnewwine · 03/11/2018 20:03

In my head I pronounced it ‘Chee chee’ or ‘chay chay’ maybe because in Italian that’s how it would be like in Francesca? But that could just be me....

WomanOfTime · 03/11/2018 20:06

I like it, although I prefer the spelling Cecy. Short for Cecily/Cecilia.

Rarfy · 03/11/2018 20:07

I love it. There is a CeCe on first dates.

NannyR · 03/11/2018 20:08

I love Cecilia, with Ceci or cece as a nickname.

RedDwarves · 03/11/2018 20:09

I don't like it, and I am actually surprised at the love it has received on this thread. I can't imagine something like Lulu, Gigi or Coco receiving the same love, despite being essentially the same!

TheFormerMrsPugwash · 03/11/2018 20:13

Fabulous, but as a nn for Cecily/Cecilia. I know both.

LaPufalina · 03/11/2018 20:17

Could you have first name and middle name starting with C, and do it that way? Our surname starts with a G so thought about Gabriella for both DD1 and 2 with nickname Gigi. Went safer, though!
