Our baby girl is due in about a week's time and we just cannot decide between Millie or Ruby. No middle name.

Ruby 100%.

Millie is an abbreviation/nickname to me, not a full name. And very boring.

LeeMiller · 03/11/2018 11:12

Ruby.

Millie is a sweet nickname if short for Millicent/Emilia/Camilla/Emily etc.

mishgs · 03/11/2018 11:13

Millie

RavenWings · 03/11/2018 11:51

Ruby.
Can't stand Millie. Weak, wishy washy name with no strength or character to it.

pomfloraalexander · 03/11/2018 12:08

Ruby is better. Millie not short for anything and no middle name really doesn't give her many options if she wants something less nicknamey when older.

daisypond · 03/11/2018 12:41

Ruby - same reasons as pp have said above. Plus, I like it.

Shadow1234 · 03/11/2018 16:10

Millicent with nn Millie. Not keen on Ruby

Polkasq · 03/11/2018 17:09

I prefer Millie.

EloisaJane · 03/11/2018 17:45

Much prefer Ruby. Millie is a nickmame and is everywhere!

Didyeeaye · 03/11/2018 17:50

I prefer Ruby

AdultHumanFemale · 03/11/2018 17:52

Ruby. Share the same reservation about Millie as PP.

cptartapp · 03/11/2018 18:50

Yikes, Ruby at a push. A big push.

DramaAlpaca · 03/11/2018 18:51

I like Ruby.

Millie is babyish & twee.

Whitley83 · 03/11/2018 19:11

Both over used and boring.

2128Cl · 03/11/2018 22:42

Ruby! I used to work in a school and there were so many girls named Millie. Ruby is really nice.

Pemba · 03/11/2018 22:46

I used to have a pair of guinea pigs named Ruby and Millie - after a make up range they used to sell in Boots. They were adorable!

I like both names, obviously.

Pompom42 · 03/11/2018 22:56

Ruby, tons of Amelia's in the school system, some shortened to Millie.
Just too common.
