So I think if we have a DD2 We have settled on Ilaria, nn Ari most likely.
Dd1 has Italian name, we have Italian surname. Children have Italian heritage.

Unless, you can top it for me?

I work with an Ilaria and have always thought it was a gorgeous name. DH and I discussed it for our little girl (due in March) but rejected it only because of the link with my colleague. I think it's lovely.

Skyejuly · 03/11/2018 10:07

How do you say it as first I thought of Malaria?

Spooples · 03/11/2018 10:21

Il-ARR-ee-ah

WildCherryBlossom · 03/11/2018 10:22

It's beautiful

Tryagaintomorrow · 03/11/2018 10:33

Yes, as scooples says :)

It's pretty, but a bit of a mouthful.

RavenWings · 03/11/2018 11:51

Gorgeous.

noseoftralee · 03/11/2018 13:26

Love it.

savingmysanity · 03/11/2018 13:29

Love it, used to live below a girl called Ilaria and always thought how gorgeous a name it is

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 03/11/2018 13:30

Sounds like a foreign disease.

LovelyGirlNOT · 03/11/2018 13:31

Made me think of 'hilarious'

IWouldLikeToKnow · 03/11/2018 13:33

Beautiful name. I've never heard of it before, but now I'm sad that 1) not having more children and 2) no Italian heritage!

Kewqueue · 03/11/2018 13:34

I don't really like it as I don't like Hilary either. There are so many lovely Italian names but (for me) this is not one of them - sorry! Also people will pronounce it wrongly ALL the time. Il-a-REE-a etc

Windgate · 03/11/2018 13:35

The Italian equivalent of Hillary. Very pretty name. @LovelyGirlNOT it's origins are from the latin word for 'hilarious', it means happy.

MikeUniformMike · 03/11/2018 14:53

I know an Ilaria. Italian. Nice name. She says it as Il-ARR-ya

Alfie190 · 03/11/2018 15:07

I met my first Ilaria this year on my course. She is an Italian student.

Mishappening · 03/11/2018 15:09

Oh no - sounds as though she is ill.

blitzen · 03/11/2018 15:32

Reminds me of Hilary, its UK equivalent, which is awful. Sorry.

Tryagaintomorrow · 03/11/2018 16:59

Yeah, funnily enough I’m not a big fan of Hilary, but find Ilaria much prettier.
Problem is really I can’t find anything I like as much as DD1, so let’s fingers cross for a boy!

Kewqueue · 03/11/2018 17:27

What names have you got for a boy? Nosey question!

Tryagaintomorrow · 04/11/2018 12:33

Sergio, that would have been DC1 name if it was a boy so we’re all happy with that one!
