Elsa or Clara

These are our top choices for girls but can't choose between them. The only reservation I have about Elsa is the frozen connection but not sure how big of an issue it would be and love the name. Clara I maybe like slightly less but still think it's lovely.

Clara makes me think of Long Distance Clara, which I quite like.

I love Clara.

I have a Clara so that's obviously my preference. My 2 and 3 year olds are Frozen mad at the moment, having missed the original hype, so I don't think that link is going to go for a while.

Clara

AnnaMagnani · 06/11/2018 19:01

Neither. Elsa has had years of being a lion and now the Frozen thing. Clara is leaping up in popularity to be the new Isabella.

I prefer Clara, but agree that it's becoming quite fashionable.

I know a lot of young Claras (pronounced Cl-ahh-ra) and one adult Clara (pronounced Claire-ah)- that latter was also my grandmother's name and pronunciation. It's quite popular, should that be a concern?

I am not over-fond of either name if I'm honest, and would probably sway slightly more to the Clara side because of Frozen, but what do I matter?

Cosmoa · 06/11/2018 19:50

Watched Frozen today. Really don't understand why it was/is so popular!

I don't really like the name Elsa but it's a shame you can't use the name without people thinking of Frozen.
