If you like it go for it, it’s not my cup of tea, however it’s not the worst I’ve heard.
Ana is a nice nn.

Winterfellismyhome · 03/11/2018 07:00

It reminds me of havaianas flip flops

LordPickle · 03/11/2018 07:05

Very strange but you can name your child whatever you like 🤷🏻‍♀️

ZenNudist · 03/11/2018 07:08

Havana good time!
Or capital of Cuba, no worse than Brooklyn, is your surname Beckham?

MsF1t · 03/11/2018 07:09

Yes. I'm surprised you like it, too.

olderthanyouthink · 03/11/2018 07:12

Havana, ooh na-na (ay)
Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh-na-na (ay, ay)
He took me back to East Atlanta, na-na-na
Oh, but my heart is in Havana (ay)
There's somethin' 'bout his manners (uh huh)
Havana, ooh na-na (uh)

Now that's stuck in my head...

HeronLanyon · 03/11/2018 07:16

I think cigars (oddly) then think of savannah (not a favourite name at all) then think child may possibly have actual connection to Havana. Then once that is discounted (assuming she doesn’t) think it’s a bit f a ‘statement’ name and wonder why the parent/s decided to make that statement through a child’s name. Hannah?

PodgeBod · 03/11/2018 07:20

I don't think it's awful but it doesn't sound like a person's name to me. My first thought would be that she was conceived on a Cuba holiday Grin how do you feel about similar names like Savannah, Hannah?

Maccycheesefries · 03/11/2018 07:31

Do you have any connection to Cuba?

I heard a woman call out Friar the other day, I thought she said Prior but she repeated Friar again & a little boy answered 'yes mum.' I've never heard a child being called a title of a religious order before. It's common to call a child after a religious person like Sebastian after St. Sebastian but not a title. The word friar is a job description really isn't it?

Polkasq · 03/11/2018 08:31

Cigars

HeronLanyon · 03/11/2018 08:36

Or perhaps ‘no cigars’Grin

EthelHallowsBroomstick · 03/11/2018 08:38

Cigars and the place spring to mind. It's not awful but it's not my cup of tea.

EthelHallowsBroomstick · 03/11/2018 08:38

Maccycheesefries

Friar is an odd one! Maybe he'll grow up to work in a chippy ;)

Maccycheesefries · 03/11/2018 08:52

@EthelHallowsBroomstick I was thinking of Friar Tuck! Well atleast she didn't call him monk or vicar which are similar to Friar.

Sophronia · 03/11/2018 09:27

Cigars

Cosmoa · 03/11/2018 09:50

@olderthanyouthink lol that song came to mind for me also!

I do think it's a great name though. I'd be pleasantly surprised to meet someone with the name!

userabcname · 03/11/2018 10:22

Yes I immediately thought of the song! But that's only because it's been in the charts recently. I do quite like it as name.

TheDinnerWitch · 03/11/2018 10:25

I quite like it! (and Friar and Prior too... )

Rarfy · 03/11/2018 10:32

I quite like it.

GoodJanet · 03/11/2018 11:12

She’ll just get the Camilla Cabello song her entire life.

I really wouldn’t. What about Savannah? It’s actually a name.

starsinyourpies · 03/11/2018 13:10

Are you Havana laugh?

slappinthebass · 03/11/2018 13:59

My daughters school friend has this name. I sing the song for days after every time she comes round.

RestingBitchFaced · 03/11/2018 14:03

Hate it

FesteringCarbuncle · 03/11/2018 14:04

Cigar

Topseyt · 03/11/2018 14:05

No. Don't name your child after a brand of cigars.
