Struggling with boys name!

Looking for a name for Noah's brother.

Put a post on here recently about Rory and Rupert. Rory came out top but the more I say it the more is sounds lispy and awkward.

Alot of people are very anti Rupert..... They think he would get teased and that its a weak name so puts me off.

Found another name today..... Caleb.
What do you think? Does it sound too biblical? Or does it go nicely with Noah?

Please help! I'm going round in circles!

I struggled with boys names and now I have a Rufus. I really like it!

Also considered:
Felix
Jasper
Gabriel

Some lovely name suggestions here.
I really like Rufus and Caleb
I also think Solomon, Flynn and Isaac would go with Noah.

AmbraS · 02/11/2018 09:10

Rory is pretty name.

Santaisgettingbusy · 02/11/2018 11:44

Molemonkey have you been watching The Affair??

Ipanema01 · 02/11/2018 13:29

Noah is such a lovely name I don’t think Caleb stands alongside it, sorry! Rufus is my fave out of your choices. Are there any others you’ve crossed off you could maybe revisit?
Boys names are SO hard!

Ipanema01 · 02/11/2018 13:29

How about Theo?

firsttimemumma89 · 02/11/2018 15:12

Ipanema01 The only ones I've had are Rory and Rupert on my list.
I don't want another obviously biblical name such as Isaac etc. Rueben I can't spell. Rufus has been suggested a few times but not my style.
Liked Teddy but can't use as stand alone name and dislike longer version.
Have relatives with Zach and Theo.
I'm completely stuck.

Ah sorry, Rufus wasn’t one of your list. Have you got enough time to take a break and revisit?
I sympathise, I find names really tricky and agonise over it. Something might just come to you or grow on you x

Ipanema01 · 02/11/2018 16:27

Also I think Teddy is great as a stand alone name

daisypond · 02/11/2018 16:39

In the Bible Ruben is spelled minus the E.
Not in any Bible I've ever seen. It's Reuben.
I like Caleb, but I think it's very matchy with Noah, perhaps too much. Jonathan? Robert? (It's the anglicised form of Rupert). Elliot?

SilverySurfer · 02/11/2018 16:45

How about Marcus? I also love Drew, presumably short for Andrew.

Creepyexgirlfriend · 02/11/2018 18:37

Benjamin Benji for short.

firsttimemumma89 · 02/11/2018 18:53

Thanks everyone.
I don't like names that can be shortened, as you can tell with Noah. I often call him first name and middle name together.
So I would like a name that's not easily shortened and that isn't a common bible name either. Thanks.

eachtigertires · 03/11/2018 02:03

Caleb is nice. Much nicer than Rupert, which might get shortened to Ru and you said you didn’t like names that could be shortened.
