And one of the mums had called her t's Prudence. I can't decide if I love it or dislike it! What do you think?

That should be dd. Silly autocorrect.

Hmm, Prudence....I know what you mean, OP. I think I sort of like it Confused Grin

I like Constance even better though, such a beautiful name.

deptfordgirl · 31/10/2018 06:10

I like it. Pru is very cute. Reminds me of Constance, Felicity, etc but a bit more unusual.

RedDwarves · 31/10/2018 08:13

Hate it, honestly.

FartnissEverbeans · 31/10/2018 12:10

I like it! Pru is a really cool nickname.

daisypond · 31/10/2018 12:36

I tend to like virtue names, but I'm not so sure on this one. I sort of like it. But Prudence has a rather prissy image to me - overly cautious, goody-goody, scaredy-cat.

Cosmoa · 31/10/2018 13:15

Nah... She would inevitably be called Prude for short. Or maybe not... But either way it has the word prude in it which isn't great.

Xiaoxiong · 31/10/2018 13:17

I'd be singing "Dear Prudence" all the time! Her nn would have to be Prue though, like Prue Leith.

schopenhauer · 31/10/2018 13:18

I know of a little prudence who is usually pru. I’m not really a fan but it’s better than some names I’ve heard. I prefer other virtue names such as verity, Honour or faith etc.

ZebraKid71 · 31/10/2018 13:42

I should like it.. Unusual but easy to spell and pronounce.. But I just don't like the sound of it. I like Pru though.

NastyCats · 31/10/2018 13:46

Not a fan. There was a horrible character in St Clare's book called Prudence. I have a child with a 'virtue' name and i like most of them: Verity, Faith, Honour, Constance. I would not go for Prudence or Chastity, however.

FogCutter · 31/10/2018 13:54

Don't like it, has an ugly sound to my ear. Reminds me of prune.

I do like other virtue type names though, love Constance (Connie) and Honor.

17caterpillars1mouse · 31/10/2018 14:04

I love it. It's the name of dd's will (because I couldn't use it on a second daughter as we has a similar style P name already)

Polkasq · 31/10/2018 17:44

I quite like the sentiment behind it - better than being called Splurge. It does remind me of prunes though.
