I’ve got quite long shortlist’s but would love opinions. I’d rather avoid the child having 12 other children with the same name in its class but I also want a pretty normal name (especially if it’s a boy). Sorry it’s so long!!

Any names you think I may like please suggest!

Here we go:

Girls
Hazel
Ada
Erin
Ivy
Miriam
Rose
Felicity
Heather
Madelaine
Matilda
Imogen
Fearn
Thea
Emmy
Amber
Wren

Boys (more stuck on boys names)

William
Harrison
George
James
Joseph
Reuben
Isaiah

Arthur
Josiah

Your girls list is almost the same as mine, DD was Ada for half a day - prob still would be if I hadn’t been so pressured to pick a name Sad
Thea was the name we first discussed when she was born then kinda forgot about it the next day, then she became Ada then baby for 5 days before agreeing on Lydia. I’m no help I still have doubts I even called her Thea yesterday. Thea is a great name with great history and I really wish I’d picked it! X

Felicity is simply gorgeous and I’ve never met one in real life.

I like all of your boys names but my favourite is William. It’s a classic name that will never go out of fashion

Sophronia · 30/10/2018 07:05

I like Miriam and Josiah best.

Girls
Hazel - I really like it and only know 1 young Hazel (she's 1)
Ada - pretty but may get lost in a sea of Ava's and Eva's. I like Adelaide nn Ada
Erin - pretty but quite popular going by threads in here
Ivy - nice. I know 1. She is 3
Miriam - nice name. I know 1 but she lives in the states
Rose - pretty but becoming more popular. I've come across several baby Rose's recently. Primrose?
Felicity - nice though I always think it's a bit grand for a little person.
Heather - dated
Madelaine I like Madeleine and Madeline but not Madelaine
Matilda - very very popular in my area
Imogen - ok
Fearn - I like it if spelt Fern. I know a baby Ferne
Thea - very pretty
Emmy - nice as a nn for Emmeline
Amber - dislike and know a few
Wren - ok in theory but not so sure irl

Boys (more stuck on boys names)

William - nice but rather popular. Though a classic
Harrison - dislike
George - bored to death of it there are so many about
James - love it
Joseph - nice but I know a few

Isaiah - nice but prefer Isaac
Arthur - lovely. Was very popular in the last place I lived but not here

Hazel and Matilda are gorgeous names IMO. All of the boy names make fine names, but I definitely have a soft spot for Reuben.
