Eloisa
Rosa
Elena (pron. Elayna)

Also open to ideas for shortenings and middle names!

We are stuck for boys (not finding out the gender) so if any boys names seem to fit with the girls list, please say.

All pretty! Elena is problematic though because of the pronunciation thing so would put me off tbh

DramaAlpaca · 28/10/2018 01:23

I love Rosa.

Slappinthebass · 28/10/2018 01:25

Rosa is ok. I find E names like those too trendy and boring. Endless Elsie's/Ella's/Eleanor's/Eva/Evie's.

Sophronia · 28/10/2018 01:51

Rosa

Shadow1234 · 28/10/2018 02:10

Agree that the Elena spelling will cause problems if you want it pronounced Elayna. (I read it as elen-ah or eleen-ah tbh). I think if you prefer 'Elayna' sound, then might be best to spell it this way.

I prefer Elayna out of the three names listed
Rosa second
Eloisa third

I like Elena the best and would pronounce it as you've said. For a boy, Ethan, Felix, Evan, Isaac, Reuben, Leo, Roman?

Alltheseposes · 28/10/2018 06:07

I love Rosa. It was going to be my second girls name if my twins had both been girls.

Eloisa I’m not to keen on. Elouise is fab though. My ex had a cute little cousin called ElouiseSmile

IHeartKingThistle · 28/10/2018 08:20

It's Eloise, isn't it?

finallychangedmyusername · 28/10/2018 08:47

All lovely names IMO. I prefer Eloise to Eloisa as I find the latter a bit too frilly. Elena I agree with above comments about pronunciation issues, although I don't think you should dismiss it, it's such a lovely name.

Middle name suggestions:

Eloisa Kate (I think the simplicity of Kate balances Eloisa beautifully)
Rosa Madeleine
Elena Charlotte

Boys:
Asher, Elijah, Gavin, Emmett, Samuel, Ross, Joel

Frosty66611 · 28/10/2018 08:49

Rosa

ShadyLady53 · 28/10/2018 08:54

I went to school with a Spanish girl called Alaina pronounced the same as your Elena. Elena and Eloisa are my favourites on your list, I’m not too keen on Rosa. I do like Rosalie as an alternative. Would you also consider Louisa given how close it is to Eloisa?

For boys, Theodore/Theo or Teo (Tay-o), Luca, Matteo, Sebastian, Tobias, Oscar, Gabriel, Nathaniel.

AliCanTea · 28/10/2018 09:51

IHeartKingThistle In the same way that Rosa is Rose, yes.

Oh no sorry I was replying to the PP who put Elouise!

Pemba · 28/10/2018 09:57

Elena is normally pronounced the way you like. It's fine, but my least favourite. I prefer Helena.

Rosa is lovely and I also like Eloisa, although again I prefer Eloise or Heloise.

TidyDancer · 28/10/2018 09:58

Rosa is lovely but much prefer Rose. Eloisa is okay but either Louisa or Eloise sounds nicer. Elena to me looks like an 'unfinished' version of Helena which is a nicer name. Think you will struggle a fair bit to enforce your pronunciation of it.

daisypond · 28/10/2018 10:15

Elena is my favourite. I might assume you were Spanish or something, though. I prefer Helena too. I like Rosa, but prefer Rose. Eloisa is a bit flowery.

AliCanTea · 28/10/2018 11:55

IHeartKingThistle Ah gotcha! Yes, true :)

Elena is my favourite ( my niece is called Elena and had never had a problem with the pronunciation)
Then Eloisa
And I don't really like Rosa.

L0lacabana · 28/10/2018 16:47

My favourite from your list is Rosa which I think is lovely. Much prefer Eleanor (would be my fave on your list) to Elena (not a fan of this) and I personally find Eloisa very frilly

DC2018 · 29/10/2018 23:56

I like Elena best. Boy suggestions that go well are Reece, Flynn, Niall, Liam or Micah
