I like Cole!

daisypond · 22/10/2018 19:26

Cain as in the first murderer, the one who killed his brother?

DramaAlpaca · 22/10/2018 19:29

Cain? I really wouldn't. Kane if you must.

I don't like Cole either, but it's better than Cain.

IgnoranceIsStrength · 22/10/2018 19:30

I don't mind Cole. Cain is definitely a murderer though. I see both as "naughty" names.

lavenderlove · 22/10/2018 19:33

I love Kane and Cole!

Catpyjama · 22/10/2018 19:35

Neither. Both really chavvy sorry.

NannyR · 22/10/2018 19:37

Cole is the better of the two names, Cain is a big no no for me, very negative meanings.

Lollyice · 22/10/2018 19:37

Like both but Cole is more common here. Would go for the spelling Cain.

DC2018 · 22/10/2018 19:39

I like both but probably prefer Cole x

WingsofNylon · 22/10/2018 19:40

I don't like either but Cole is a smidgen better.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 22/10/2018 19:41

In Far from the Madding Crowd, there was a woman who mistakenly called her child 'Cain' thinking it was Abel who killed Cain and Thomas Hardy completely takes the piss out of her. For that reason, I wouldn't use Cain! Wink

Queenofthedrivensnow · 22/10/2018 19:43

At least cain is a proper name and not a surname. Any other ads you like?

britiole · 22/10/2018 19:48

Cole is better. I know of a Khaine.

busymamakins1 · 22/10/2018 19:51

Okaaaaay....

So you've all managed to put me off both names!!! 🤣🤣 back to the drawing board!!

Icklepup · 22/10/2018 19:52

Yeah, I don't like either aswell

Fablesfairytales · 22/10/2018 20:00

Cole

MissLingoss · 22/10/2018 20:05

I believe Cole can be, or used to be, a short for Nicholas, so it's not always a surname.

papayya · 22/10/2018 20:21

Cold

papayya · 22/10/2018 20:21

*cole! Lovely name, was on my list too

isittheholidaysyet · 22/10/2018 20:22

Cain = first murderer
Cole = Lego ninja

Verbena87 · 22/10/2018 20:28

I’ve taught some of each and do agree they seem to be “naughty” names.

If you’re put off, what about...

Cormac
Cameron
Colm
Caleb
Clay
Conall

Mumtobe193 · 23/10/2018 13:21

Cole

I find Cain really harsh sounding

OatsBeansBarley · 23/10/2018 13:23

Cole

Ontopofthesunset · 23/10/2018 13:28

Cain - first murderer
Cole - homophone for 'coal' so just not very attractive (though I suppose there was Old King Cole who was a merry old soul, so that's quite positive)

ReginaPhalange89 · 23/10/2018 15:13

I don't particularly like Cole but it's 100% nicer than Cain. Sorry ! Irish name Cian on the other hand is lovely
