Thoughts on Eric for a baby boy?
Do you know any? Is it outdated? :)

I find it quite refreshing in amongst all the Archies, Arlos and Jacks round here!

RavenWings · 18/10/2018 21:22

I looooove Eric. I do know two, neither are kids. Fab name, so much nicer than Alfie/Charlie etc.

DramaAlpaca · 18/10/2018 21:26

It's OK, but I prefer it spelled Erik. For some reason the 'k' on the end makes it look more modern & edgy to me.

Notacluewhatthisis · 18/10/2018 21:28

I love it. My dad's name, my dad hates it though. I would have called my son it, but I knew dad hated it. He has it as a middle name though.

moredoll · 18/10/2018 21:39

Don't like it, sorry. Too harsh and, yes, outdated.

Karachii · 18/10/2018 21:45

Big name in our family! My dog, my dad , my uncle, cousin and great uncle x ❤️2 . We’ve got one at work ( a lovely Chinese man ) and my friends toddler is one too.

We named dog after my dad / Eric Cantona.

I love it x

Sophronia · 18/10/2018 23:16

SingingSands · 18/10/2018 23:51

I think it's coming back. Have heard of a few baby Erics in the last couple of years.

I love it. It sounds sort of Viking sounding in my head!

Lipsticktraces · 19/10/2018 07:20

I love Eric. Go for it opSmile

MargaretDribble · 19/10/2018 07:24

I know an 8 year old Eric. The name really suits him. I think he was named after a family member.

blueskiesandforests · 19/10/2018 07:25

Much better with a k Wink excellent straightforward but not overly common name.

cushioncuddle · 19/10/2018 07:44

Simon Cowell has made that one popular.

Polkasq · 19/10/2018 07:50

I like it.

mummabearfourbabybears · 19/10/2018 08:01

Our childhood name for an erection Eric-Shun. 'He's got an eric' cue much hilarity. So no I don't love it as a name for a baby

Sunflower321 · 19/10/2018 08:12

There was meant to be an emoji after that ... but they don't seem to work on my phone...

Justlikedevon · 19/10/2018 08:15

RuthW · 19/10/2018 20:05

My dd would have been Eric if she was a boy 22 years ago. Go for it.
