Haven't heard much of that name. I think it's very unique and classy.

TempsPerdu · 19/10/2018 11:38

It’s one of those names that seems to be everywhere at the moment - as well as Harry Potter, it’s also a popular pet name and has been used by a fair few celebrities so it’s heard a lot.

I actually quite like it but wouldn’t use it - likely to date quickly imo.

Cbeebiesrehab · 19/10/2018 12:45

I know two girls under two with the name (and quite a few pets too)
I do think it will date badly sorry.

MeLuna is a brand of menstrual cups as well, which would put me off for some reason. Maybe because it's the brand I own but I can't get over the association. I actually quite like the way Luna sounds though. Plus the Harry Potter reference would be brought up constantly and as the character was bullied, there's a lot of built in nicknames to be used.

Luna is really popular where I am, especially with younger mums (under 20s) and a very popular name for cats. Love it for a cat but not keen on it as a name for a person.

L0kiWh0 · 19/10/2018 13:28

I don’t like it, I put it in the same category as Lola, Lexi, Layla, and Mia/myah/miah.

Cosmoa · 19/10/2018 17:57

1 baby and 3 cats. But I love it!

notacooldad · 19/10/2018 18:00

I don't know any and I know a lot of children through my job.

How about Lona or Shuna

ZebraKid71 · 19/10/2018 19:49

There are two on my street, a baby and a toddler. And I know of others.. It seems to be common in my area. Ironically by people who wanted to be different and quirky...

Slappinthebass · 20/10/2018 00:08

I've heard of a handful but over the last 10 years, but non recently. In my experience it's a particular type of parent that is drawn to it. Slightly geeky goths, out of curiosity, do you fit that description OP? Grin

Marcipex · 20/10/2018 09:02

Looney. Awful. Don't know any Lunas I'm pleased to say.

Justlikedevon · 20/10/2018 10:15

Horrible name. Used predominantly for dogs or people who hyphenated the siblings.
