What do you think of Fleur? Is it a bit posh?

Posh

Peachbubble · 18/10/2018 17:05

I wouldn't say it's posh, no. Not a favourite name of mine, because of how it sounds. Prefer Flora.

SassitudeandSparkle · 18/10/2018 17:10

Nice name, Forsyte Saga springs to mind.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 18/10/2018 17:12

I think it's a really lovely name but that might be because dc1 is friends with a Fleur who is a really sweet & nice natured little girl.

mammmamia · 18/10/2018 17:14

Love it

overmydeadbody · 18/10/2018 17:17

I don't like it. It just didn't sound right, not like a real word anyway. Fluuuuuur

Sounds like you stopped talking halfway through a word.

duckling84 · 18/10/2018 17:28

It is posh but I love it and would definitely short list it if I had another dd

MrsVietor · 18/10/2018 17:32

I think it sounds very weak and weedy. I'm Scottish so I say the 'r' sound, but in some English dialects it's more like 'fleuuuuugh' which I think sounds terrible.

MarthaArthur · 18/10/2018 17:34

Fleur delacour feom harry potter. French for flower. Beautiful name.

ChateauneufDuTwat · 18/10/2018 17:35

"Sounds like you stopped talking halfway through a word."

This.

It's just an unpleasant sound to me. Like 'Bleurgh'.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 18/10/2018 17:40

Fleurgh. Terrible.

BlancheM · 18/10/2018 17:46

It doesn't sound nice in English I don't think.

confusedandemployed · 18/10/2018 17:46

I love it, it was high on my list.

FuzzBallMushroomP · 18/10/2018 17:47

It's ok. Prefer Flora.

AdaColeman · 18/10/2018 17:49

It's a beautiful name, I love it.

zippey · 18/10/2018 17:49

Harry Potter

PinkCalluna · 18/10/2018 17:51

I agree with MrsV it sounds lovely with a Scottish accent... not so nice with certain English accents.

The same applies to Claire which is also a lovely name.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 18/10/2018 17:55

Don't like it at all. Sounds too much like bleurgh.

Icklepup · 18/10/2018 17:56

Prefer Flora.

Shadow1234 · 18/10/2018 20:24

I think its an ok name, but wouldnt choose it myself. I dont think it sounds posh though.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 18/10/2018 20:38

Beautiful...so long as you have a suitable surname!!

Slappinthebass · 19/10/2018 00:01

I can't see the prettiness some people claim. I agree it sounds ugly to me, like Bleurgh. More of a vomit than a flower.

TheShrieksShallInheritTheDeath · 19/10/2018 00:06

Sounds like someone throwing up.

EvieV28 · 20/10/2018 11:09

I like it.

Glumglowworm · 20/10/2018 12:47

I really hate the way it sounds
