Roll up! Roll up! All those unashamed to be inappropriately obsessing about a new Royal baby name welcome here!

As Harry and his desecendants are rapidly becoming outnumbered by the Cambridge side of the family they have much less to worry about in terms of a suitable name for a monarch, therefore, within reason they can be bit more free and creative, but still relatively formal.

I wish we could place bets but in the meantime I invite you to have a REALISTIC stab at naming the new Sussex baby.

We can have Stacie (Anastasia) or Fred (Frederick) but I will go with

Girl: Alexandra
Boy: Leo

1 boys name and 1 girls name each please no massive lists of Royals since Ethelbert!

Lena isn’t a Lady though....

I’m really really hoping it’s not James. I love that name but I’ll never here the end of it if they call it James!

LethalWhite · 17/10/2018 16:13

Ah, I didn't realise that. Guess all the L names are off the list!

Good job Louis is a Prince Grin

Emmeline is lovely and great nod to the suffragettes after the centenary year.

PurpleFlowersInMyHair · 18/10/2018 12:29

Emmeline is a lovely name and my SIL called their little girl that a couple of months ago.

I doubt M&H will though as would be deemed political.

PurpleFlowersInMyHair · 18/10/2018 21:10

@SillySally but is it a political statement when women got the vote 100 years ago and there is probably not one person in this country that disagrees. Ain’t no politics in that. Meghan is definitely a feminist and human rights champion.

Hanuman · 18/10/2018 21:53

Alice or Albert

Aquamarine1029 · 19/10/2018 04:18

Crystal or Tiger.

Not saying she isn't however there is royal protocol which they have to adere to.

VenusInSpurs · 19/10/2018 15:28

“Not saying she isn't however there is royal protocol which they have to adere to.”

Ah, not Rosa or Martin Luther, then Wink

It won’t be Emmeline. The Pankhursts weren’t great on the franchise and racial equality.

Rachel or Ross.

ItsalmostSummer · 19/10/2018 15:39

Or they might be modern and say it’s not a boy or girl but X. And then the child is allowed to choose it’s own name when they are older and have decided which gender they feel like. (Sorry cannot help myself in the current climate.)

MikeUniformMike · 19/10/2018 19:14

How about they combine both grandmothers' names and have Dorina or Diaria?

Unhappyandmiddleaged · 19/10/2018 19:31

James and Jessica.

midsomermurderess · 19/10/2018 19:42

The children will be Earl in the case of a boy and Lady if a girl. Titles, that is, not names.

Smile so you're sure it's a girl, @MikeUniformMike?

MikeUniformMike · 20/10/2018 13:32

Markle for a boy? Prince or Princess just in case they don't get the title?
