How would you pronounce this name?
I want it to be pronounced key-ar-ah, but would people think it is pronounced key-ra like keira?
Or any other spelling suggestions?

It is kee-ah-rah, like the lion from Lion King 2.

I prefer the Italian spelling Chiara, but I think you'll have less pronunciation confusion with Kiara. I am sure that even though the pronunciation is reasonably obvious, you will still get people pronouncing it like Keira.

Pronounced as above. Lovely name btw!

hoping2018 · 14/10/2018 05:24

I initially read it as Kiera but then realised t wasn't and thought kiara. I actually know one aged 2 too x

Thank you! I wasn't aware there was a Kiara in lion king, haven't seen the second one. My dog is called Nala!! Is this an issue? Lol!

I would assume a "creative" spelling of the Irish Ciara.

Babbaganoush · 14/10/2018 06:57

I'd pronounce it Key-ah-ra too.

surlycurly · 14/10/2018 06:58

Lovely name but I'm not fond of that spelling. I'd go with Chiara too.

finn1020 · 14/10/2018 07:04

Chiara and Kiara I’d pronounce key-ar-rah.

Ciara and Keira as keer-rah. Like Keira knightly.

17caterpillars1mouse · 14/10/2018 07:07

Key-ah-rah

It always makes me think of the orange squash from childhood Kia-ora

TallulahBetty · 14/10/2018 07:35

Love the name but not that spelling. Chiara is much nicer

LeeMiller · 14/10/2018 07:37

Prefer the spelling Chiara.

ZebraKid71 · 14/10/2018 11:02

I would pronounce it as key ah rah, but only after reading it properly, on first glance I'd have said kiera.

It islovely, but does remind me of the Lion King, its the name of Simbas cub.

RavenWings · 14/10/2018 11:34

I would pronounce it like Chiara.
If the dog is Nala then it's a bit ott for me and I'd spell it Chiara.
