Hazel or Sylvie?

We were pretty set on Sylvie for DD due soon, but I’m really falling in love with the name Hazel. She’s likely to have brown eyes and hair like her siblings so I think it would fit.

Which do you prefer and why?

Like Hazel, love Sylvie. They go beautifully together as well.

As a Sylvie she will be slightly inconvenienced her entire life by correcting people who mispronounce it as Sylvia.

If that doesn't matter then go for it!

Sylvie-love it Smile

As an aside, 2 of my children have the same eye/hair colour combo and the third is totally different so don't depend on that unless variation is unlikely!

Sylvie

Thank you. I’m still so torn! Maybe we should wait to see what she looks like.

Sylvia and Sylvie have totally different vibes to me and I have to say I don’t like Sylvia nearly as much. Is Sylvie too cutesy?

Also, sadly I won’t be able to use both as there will be a family name for the middle (Vivien).

Hazel and Sylvia are both lovely. Hazel I prefer. For an adult woman Sylvie sounds to me more like a nickname I would be hesitant to call someone I didn’t know well sylvie unless I was sure that was her name. I would assume she was a Sylvia. Bit awkward.
