Kid isn’t due for a while yet so plenty of time to weed out the ‘wtf were we thinking’ name choices - would appreciate some views (honest is fine I’m not easily offended).

Note: partner is a very proud Welshman hence the welsh-y names.

I like Idris, Aneurin, Macsen, Anwen, Emmeline and Rosa.

Idris is my favourite.
But in this 79th year of the NHS, Aneurin is a great choice.

Boys: really like Cadfan and Aneurin

Girls: Rosa and Chloe

I really wanted Rhys or Ffion DH vetoed so we ended up with an Irish girl’s name 😂

Really like Idris and Emmeline. Not mad about your other choices.

I love Macsen, Cadfan and Ramsey.

And Anwen or Annecy for a girl.

Love Idris and Anwen. Annecy is not one I've come across before, but it's nice - I always liked Annis.

A relative of mine called their daughter Emmeline to rhyme with washing-line. Please don't do that.

I like Idris from your boys list. Vince and Ramsey are okay. Not sure what I think about Macsen and strongly dislike Aneurin.

I also really like Mona and Rosa. Anwen and Annecy are okay. I'm not keen on Emmeline and Moya, and Chloe is very 'meh' and boring IMO, especially considering your other name choices!

I think, outside of Welsh speakers, Aneurin is quite difficult to know how to pronounce and will be difficult for people to spell.

Idris and Cadfan are more 'universal' for that (though you will probably get 'v' instead of 'f' for some spelling, people will be able to have a good go at saying them, when reading them off a list.) so I'd go for one of those.

I think Idris is more widely known than Cadfan.

Girls, I like Anwen if looking for Welsh sounding names that non-Welsh speakers can cope with - not sure the others particularly say 'Wales' to me.
I also like Cerys which isn't on your list for similar reasons ?

Vince - nice enough but I prefer Vincent and would put that on the birth certificate

I really love Aneurin/Nye. Cadfan is ok but ounds a little clunky to me (probably nicer in a Welsh accent than mine!) Idris is nice but I'd associate it with Idris Elba. Macsen and Ramsey look like surnames to me which puts me off. Vince is nice if short for Vincent, feels a bit incomplete as a full name.

Anwen is lovely. Rosa and Emmeline are both pretty. Moya, Mona and Chloe are fine. I don't like Annecy, I think 'French Alpine town', not girl's name.
