Opinions please?

Is it too popular after the princess?

Charlie or Lottie for the nn?

Love love love, it's a timeless classic, can't go wrong IMO

MarshaBradyo · 06/10/2018 20:17

Nice

MarshaBradyo · 06/10/2018 20:17

Not keen on Charlie though

birthdayparty · 06/10/2018 20:30

I find it really boring, sorry!! Nickname wise, I'd probably just end up shortening it to Char as that's actually shortened!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/10/2018 20:37

Nice, and like Lottie.

Sophronia · 06/10/2018 20:41

It’s ok. I quite like Lottie.

DramaAlpaca · 06/10/2018 20:57

It's a lovely classic name.

I like Lottie for the diminutive, I don't like Charlie on a girl at all.

RavenWings · 06/10/2018 21:12

Of the usual 'classic names' (Emma etc) I think it's one of the best tbh. I'm not a huge fan of the classics but it has a lovely sound.

Fifthtimelucky · 06/10/2018 21:29

It's one of my favourite names. We didn't use it as it didn't go well with our surname.

gollygoodnessgraciousme · 06/10/2018 21:36

Hmm mostly positive so far!

I'm not really a massive fan of classic or traditional names but this one has a family connection and I keep coming back to it. I've got quite a list of more unusual and out there names but at the moment this one seems to be winning.

Lovely classic name.

Lottie is divine for all ages.

RedDwarves · 06/10/2018 21:40

It's been among the top 3 names where I live for around a decade now, so I find it a bit bland now. I like it, it's just everywhere.

Glumglowworm · 06/10/2018 21:57

Love it, especially with Lottie as the nickname

Kim82 · 06/10/2018 22:02

Love it, it’s my 4 year old’s name (born before the princess). We don’t shorten it, she is just Charlotte and we don’t know any others.

moredoll · 06/10/2018 22:03

I quite like Charlotte - mainly because I love Charlie as a nn. Don't like Lottie at all.

Kintan · 06/10/2018 22:03

I really like it, but it came off our list once Kate and William used it.

cariadlet · 06/10/2018 22:04

I much prefer traditional names to wacky, faddy or made up names

Charlotte is pretty and Lottie is lovely.

PodgeBod · 06/10/2018 22:15

It's beautiful and classic.

AwaAnBileYeHeid · 06/10/2018 22:16

I love it. I have a Charlotte (and an Emily). Born before the princess.

We joked when she was younger that her nick name would be Chaz or Chazza.

It stuck. Now she is Chazza quite a lot. Whoops. 😂. We do call her Charlotte most of all because it's a beautiful name, classic and pretty and not spelled nor pronounced ridiculously.

Gizlotsmum · 06/10/2018 22:18

I have a Charlotte shortened to Lottie. I like it. It suits her and all her friends call her Lottie or lots

Sungura · 06/10/2018 22:27

I've got a little cousin with this name. She gets called Char. It's a pretty name. I don't see why it needs nicknames. Beautiful all on its own.

LeeMiller · 07/10/2018 11:19

Lovely name. I prefer Lottie or Lotta but I think Charlie is probably less commonly used now.

Peachbubble · 07/10/2018 12:52

I like it, always been a favourite. Love Lottie too, but not keen on Charlie as a nn.

daisypond · 07/10/2018 13:23

I don't like it, I'm afraid. I think it's the Sh sound that puts me off, and I lump it in with other Sh-sounding names like Sharon and Chardonnay.

LAlady · 07/10/2018 13:25

I love it - classic and timeless. Beautiful name.

Don't like the abbreviated version my friend uses for her daughter, Char. Lottie is lovely though.
