WIBU to call my baby Caspian?

I'm really struggling to find boys names that I like. We have a great list of girls names and basically nothing on the boys list.

DP has descended into madness and is just reading names from the most popular list - but I don't want to call my baby Oliver, Muhammad or Charlie.

I like Caspian but every time I mention this irl I get "like the sea?"

Maybe I should stop asking for opinions but I want to know what the NM jury thinks.

I love Caspian. I also think of Prince Caspian from Narnia not the sea. If you like it go for it. It's a great name imo x

It’s a perfectly nice name, and I’d find someone who thought it terribly out there a bit odd. I know two, one a teenager, one a pre-schooler.

And yes, stop canvassing opinions. It’s not a popularity contest. Thousands of people like the name George, after all, which I think is a dingy, puddingy kind of name. When your baby arrives just introduce him.

What's not to like? It's a great interesting name.

I’ve taught a couple of Caspians. I like it. It’s unusual without sounding odd.

I wouldn't connect it with the sea and don't get that reference but I like caspian and have suggested it myself (although it got vetoed) do it! It's a cool name

Caspian was high up on my boys name list. But im having a girl. I love it though.

Only time ever heard it was on some tv programme years ago about young offenders. Boy on it called Caspian and loved it ever since heard it.

I like it but really like Cass as a nickname are you ok with it being shortened ? Also I always think about how names sound in your / your local areas accent. If you are both happy with it o say go for it

I know a little Cassius but I prefer Caspian

We nearly called DS Caspian. I had a thread about it last year, look it up if you fancy!

We didn't use it in the end, not brave enough. You're getting a more positive response than I did, I think, although many did love it. Obviously I love it!

Caspian is fab! It's like vintage cool and super modern all at once! If I was allowed (DH also not keen) I'd use it in a heartbeat!

It would make me think of Saki but otherwise fine
