Robert is nice, but I don't like Bobbie at all

flybabyfly · 30/09/2018 11:09

I don’t think it sounds too similar at all. I would use Robert on the BC and Bobby as the nn.

Peachbubble · 30/09/2018 11:33

Not keen on Bobby at all, and it's a little too similar to Albie imo.

bmxbeauty · 30/09/2018 11:55

Ok... the other possibility is Owen. Totally different but worry it's a bit Welsh and we have no welsh connections!

I like it.

LordOfTheFleas · 30/09/2018 18:40

We have a little Bobby down the road, it's grown on me.

LordOfTheFleas · 30/09/2018 18:41

I think he's just Bobby, not Robert. Only one I've met though and I go to lots of different playgroups.

daisypond · 30/09/2018 18:44

I'm not keen on Bobby, though I do know one - he's 12 - and Bobby is his BC name. I much prefer Owen.

RedStef1983 · 30/09/2018 18:45

I always associate Bobby with a dogs name! Sorry. 🤦🏼‍♀️

mama17 · 30/09/2018 18:47

I have a bobby and I now love it. Originally didn't like it but did it for partners father who was terminally ill as that's his name. It grew on me and everyone says how cute it is

Sunflower321 · 30/09/2018 18:48

Owen is nicer

Halfahunnerstillastunner · 30/09/2018 18:56

I like it, it's cute on a little kid but also ok for a grown up chap too. I know one Bobby, not sure if he's "officially" Robert actually but always called Bobby and it's fine.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 30/09/2018 18:56

Oh please go with Owen. Bobby is not a name for the grown man he will be one day.

WendyTheWestie · 30/09/2018 18:59

Owen is really nice.

If you use Bobby I would put Robert on the BS.

BlancheM · 30/09/2018 19:05

Barney goes well with Albie!

Sungura · 30/09/2018 19:13

Agree with pp who suggested Barney instead. Or use Owen.

tatim · 30/09/2018 19:45

Bobbie isn't particularly a nice name and a bit clashy with Albie anyway in my opinion.

Owen is okay.

Barney is nice as PP's have suggested!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 30/09/2018 20:52

Bobby Ball. Enough said. Owen isn't my cup of tea, more of a surname to me.

DaniC18 · 30/09/2018 21:36

I much prefer Owen to Bobby and it goes better with Albie x

greendale17 · 30/09/2018 21:38

I really dislike Bobby. Just a horrible name

RavenWings · 30/09/2018 21:39

Owen is so much nicer than Bobby. Bobby is too babyish.

I prefer the Eoin or Eoghan spellings personally, but I can see that if you're not Irish they mightnt suit.

DramaAlpaca · 30/09/2018 22:17

Owen is lovely, much nicer than Bobby.

Cookit · 01/10/2018 07:00

Owen is great.

Bobby is cute for a toddler. I wouldn’t want to be an adult with the name Bobby.

Sunflower321 · 01/10/2018 07:12

I'm not keen on Owen, but would choose it over Bobby, which sounds comical/childish.

Sophronia · 01/10/2018 14:14

Owen
