I already have a Pearl so is Coral a little bit too much on the under the sea theme or is it just me that thinks that?

The under the sea theme didn't occur to me until you mentioned it. I think it's fine.

MadisonAvenue · 28/09/2018 11:40

I prefer Connie, I know a very sweet little girl with that name Smile

samandpoppysmummy · 28/09/2018 11:41

My niece is called Coral. She is 23 now and she has always loved her name :) I quite like the idea of an 'under the sea' theme. I have a friend with 4 girls who all have flower names and they like having themed names.

oldmother44 · 28/09/2018 11:44

OK it's just me that sees the under the sea potential mermaid name theme then? Maybe I'm over thinking things.

Coral by a million miles. I know a bit bitch of a Connie. You know one of those. Pole stUck up her arse. Thought she was doing you a good turn by allowing you to breathe the same air as her and a feild of potatoes on shoulder, I don't know about a chip.
Coral goes gorgeous with Pearl. Yes it does make you think of sea but Who said that was a bad thing.

PuppyMonkey · 28/09/2018 11:46

Prefer Connie and I also like Constance.

LightDrizzle · 28/09/2018 11:51

I’ve got a Constance who goes by Connie so I’m biased.
If you like Coral, don’t be put off by having a Pearl but maybe stop short of adding Ruby, Beryl and Jade to the collection! Wink

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/09/2018 12:50

I like both though prefer Connie as a shortening of Constance

I may a 6 year old Coral a few years ago and thought it was a lovely, quirky name.

It would seem a little themey with Pearl but not in an overly obvious, cringeworthy way

Shadow1234 · 28/09/2018 13:13

I wouldnt have noticed the 'under the sea' theme until you
pointed it out to be honest.

I really like both, but I think Pearl and Coral sound nicer together.

Good luck!

DaniC18 · 28/09/2018 13:55

I prefer Coral but agree that it is a bit too similar to Pearl. Perhaps Coraline instead?

laseo · 28/09/2018 14:27

I don't particularly like name Connie. Coral is far nicer.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 28/09/2018 15:03

Constance is beautiful, Connie is ok. Coral is dreadful sorry.

Sophronia · 28/09/2018 23:01

I think Coral is a bit much with Pearl. Connie is nice.

moredoll · 29/09/2018 02:26

Coral.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/09/2018 18:55

Connie.

Glumglowworm · 30/09/2018 19:27

Connie

greendale17 · 30/09/2018 19:38

You already have a child called Pearl and now want to call the other Coral? Please don’t!

Connie by miles

LeeMiller · 30/09/2018 21:27

Coral with Pearl is a bit much. I'd definitely think you picked them because of the theme.

Coralie or Cora are better, otherwise Connie (especially short for Constance) is lovely.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/09/2018 21:34

Connie

RavenWings · 30/09/2018 21:37

Pearl and Coral are a bit much, yes. Something like Coralie or Coraline would be better.

Connie is very weak sounding imo so not a fan.

oldmother44 · 01/10/2018 09:15

My auntie is called Caroline so anything similar Coraline is out I'm afraid.

We have a while to decide yet so may change my mind altogether!

Thanks for your help everyone, seems opinion is split!!!

My DD is Constance but known as Connie so I'm biased but I just love the name Connie 😁

MikeUniformMike · 01/10/2018 20:03

Prefer Connie short for Constance, and suggest Cora as an alternative to Coral, which I'm not mad keen on.
