Initials help

The name we like will have the initials E.M.W. I just worry that EW could be embarrassing. Am I overthinking this or is it a valid concern?

I know an EW but have no idea why those initials could cause embarrassment?

moredoll · 28/09/2018 03:38

You're overthinking.

kdw11 · 28/09/2018 03:55

Some people say it’s like ewwww.

I understand your worry but think they’re fine. Emma Watson, Emma Willis, ewww is not the thing you think about!

laseo · 28/09/2018 08:15

I don't think initials matter as much as people seem to think they do.

sunshine1989 · 29/09/2018 20:32

Following on from this... would the initials O.L.G.E be any issue? I love all the names but can't help but look at the initials and think ugly! Maybe overthinking!

userabcname · 29/09/2018 20:42

No it's fine. I work in a school and I'm regularly surprised by odd names. The most recent being a pupil with the same forename and surname (like Thomas Thomas). I wouldn't bat an eyelid at those initials.

YerAuntFanny · 29/09/2018 20:49

There are very few situations in life where you use only your initials so it really wouldn't bother me. My child's initials are CAB.

I did used to work with an A.Prentis which only occurred to me when I picked up a letter addressed to them :o

sunshine1989 · 30/09/2018 10:40

Thanks.... think I'm just overthinking- just want everything about the name to be perfect but not sure there is such a thing!

stellabird · 30/09/2018 10:45

Overthinking. I think if the initials a actually spell an embarrassing word it might be a bad thing, but something like this is not a problem. My sister was MAD but to be honest it never bothered her and I doubt that anyone ever said anything.

kdw11 · 05/10/2018 00:43

Would E.W. be considered embarrassing?

OP posts:
SleepWarrior · 05/10/2018 00:52

I don't think it would be considered anything, it's just not noteworthy in any way (I mean that in a good way, not a criticism!). The ewww thing wouldn't register for anyone I don't think.

BackforGood · 05/10/2018 01:00

Like the first poster, I can't understand why they would be bad initials.
You are definitely overthinking this.

DramaAlpaca · 05/10/2018 01:01

Like everyone else has said, it's fine. Stop overthinking.

Icklepup · 06/10/2018 14:10

E.W is fine!

goldrobin24 · 11/10/2018 04:14

Mine is ERW but not many people know my middle name so basically EW. When I was in primary school a few comments were made about it but I’m over it now lol! Wouldn’t let it stop you :)
