Love the name but is it too popular ?

It is fairly popular but then again it depends on where you live. There seems to be a variation of popular names in different regions. If you love it go for it x

Also agree that it can depend on where you live.

I think its a nice name though.

moredoll · 27/09/2018 02:22

I don't think it's too popular. Haven't met any little Georges irl in 2 years.

Rebecca36 · 27/09/2018 03:23

It's popular but a very good name, classic. It will stand the test of time even when it goes out of fashion. Like John and Sarah. No one would be embarrassed at school by being called George. I love it!

Hellywelly10 · 27/09/2018 03:34

Its a bit royal but still nice

Movablefeast · 27/09/2018 03:46

George is just a classic name and a lovely one. If you love a name you have to use it. One of our daughters is Georgina because we loved it so much we decided to use it, even though it’s not used so much these days but luckily she loves her name too.

iris89 · 27/09/2018 08:06

I personally wouldn't use it because it's too common but it's a lovely name.

Sunflower321 · 27/09/2018 08:08

Too popular imo.

OutPinked · 27/09/2018 19:42

Very popular but it is a classic that I can’t see ever going out of fashion.

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/09/2018 17:32

Yes it is here. They are everywhere!

EggSurprise · 28/09/2018 17:34

Throw a stick around here and you'll hit several. Also, I agree with the 'a bit royal' poster. It makes me think of Hanoverians and porphyria.

Armchairanarchist · 28/09/2018 17:49

I managed to choose three names, including George, all before they became very popular. One has topped the list for several years and both are slated heavily on here. The other two were outside the top 100 when I used them.

Laac · 28/09/2018 17:53

It's very popular but it doesn't mean it isn't a nice name.

notacooldad · 28/09/2018 17:57

Does it matter if it is popular? If you love it , have it!
Personally the only one I know us Ds's 22 year old friend.

dinosaurkisses · 28/09/2018 18:04

When I met with my HV for the first time we were talking about DD's v uncommon name and she said "Sometimes it's nice to have unusual one. I mean if I come across one more George....". Which was interesting as I didn't think it was that popular in our area.
