I love Frances for a girl
Saul or Francis for boy
Dislike all the rest

Wetdressinggownsleeve · 25/09/2018 22:34

Favourites are the Ev- names for a girl and Elena, also Helena. Hate the K names, and Beatrix and Agnes.

Not keen on Ryan or Francis or Robert or Jonathan. Saul or Jonah would be my pick.

DollyDayScream · 25/09/2018 22:34

I'll just comment on the names that I really like.

Girls - Alice & Esther are beautiful and classic.

Boys - Jonathon - I'd give Jonty as a per name.

Shadow1234 · 25/09/2018 22:35

Love Elena and Kayla from your list.
Jonah and Caleb from the boys list

Also think Elijah is a nice name for a boy.

Good luck!

GIRLS

-Shaina(shay-na)- really dislike
-Evangeline- love it and considered for my first DD but thought it was too frilly in the end
-Alisa- if you want the Alyssa pronounciation I think double s would be better
-Eva- meh okay
-Grace- boring
-Emilia- okay
-Agnes- awfully ugly
-Evelyn(ever-lin not eve-lin)- like the eve-lin pronounciation but don’t like your one
-Marianne- not a fan
-Margot- I have one so obviously love it
-Elena(elayna)- it’s okay, much prefer Eleanor which is great. Think she’ll spend a lifetime correcting everyone and saying it isn’t pronounced like Eleanor
-Alma- pretty but not my style
-Niamh- not a fan
-Delilah- too sweet for me but pretty
-Alice- okay
-Frances- lovely
-Beatrix- nice
-Esther- okay
-Keziah(KEZ-EYE-AH)- dislike
-Kayla-dislike
-Bianca-dislike
-Damaris(DA-MAR-ISS)-dislike

BOYS
-Asher-sound very negative but don’t like it
-Isaac- love it!
-Robert- okay, I don’t have positive connotations can’t put my finger on why
-Caleb- don’t like
-Jonathan (both boys already have j names though)- nice
-Ryan- dislike
-Reuben- okay but a bit wet
-Saul- no, too religious for me
-Jonah- same as Saul
-Francis- nice

TheGhostOfYou · 25/09/2018 22:35

Alice, Evelyn and Delilah are my favourites from your girls list.

Not a fan of any of your boy's names but if I had to pick it would be Asher.

Isaac or Saul for a boy.

MadameJosephine · 25/09/2018 22:37

Girl - Evelyn or Esther

Boy - Caleb or Saul

NameChange30 · 25/09/2018 22:43

I like most of your boys list, my son’s name is on it Smile

I don’t like Shaina but the rest of the girls list is ok. My favourites are Eva and Marianne.

florenceheadache · 25/09/2018 22:43

If you want a name pronounced a certain way then spell it that way.
There is NO R in Evelyn
Elena is like Helena with no H at the beginning. Maybe try Elaina.
If you don’t mind correcting Kezy ah go for it.

sophisticatedsarcasm · 25/09/2018 22:45

Love love love the name Caleb.... it’s actually on my list...

I know someone cAlled Alayna.... think it’s a better spelling

Dentista · 25/09/2018 22:50

GIRLS

-Shaina - don't like it; sounds made up
-Evangeline - ok
-Alisa - I think Elise/Alicia are much nicer
-Eva - nice but very popular at the moment
-Grace - same problem as Eva
-Emilia - nice
-Agnes - I love this name
-Evelyn - shell constantly be telling people how to pronounce it
-Marianne - I like Marion, but I don't think Marianne works very well in English
-Margot - lovely
-Elena - lovely
-Alma - nice
-Niamh - nice
-Delilah - lovely
-Alice - nice
-Frances - hate this name
-Beatrix - I just hear 'Beer-Tricks', make me think drinking games
-Esther - love this, and the nickname Etty
-Keziah(KEZ-EYE-AH) - lovely
-Kayla - bit American/chavvy imo
-Bianca - ok (makes me think of Bianca from Eastenders though, not the most positive connotation)
-Damaris(DA-MAR-ISS) - never heard of it, don't like it; sounds Game of Thrones-esque/made up

BOYS
-Asher - I hear Asha which is a girl's name to me
-Isaac - lovely
-Robert - lovely
-Caleb - lovely
-Jonathan - nice but three 'J's would be slightly Kardashian-esque and I'd think you'd done it on purpose
-Ryan - no, doesn't suit a child
-Reuben - lovely
-Saul - not my cup of tea
-Jonah - ok
-Francis - I have an irrational hatred of this name (and Frances). Makes me think of Scout and Jem's awful, spoilt racist cousin Francis in To Kill A Mockingbird.

parrotonmyshoulder · 25/09/2018 22:50

Marianne and Asher/ Jonathon

ConsiderHerWaysAndOthers · 25/09/2018 22:53

I love:

Agnes, Marianne, Esther, Beatrix and Keziah

Ozgirl01 · 26/09/2018 12:50

I like Evangeline, Grace, Emilia, Evelyn, Margot, Elena, Niamh, Delilah, Alice, Beatrix, Asher, Isaac, Caleb, and Reuben.

I wouldn't use Jonathan or Jonah if your other boys also have names starting with J unless this is your last child, otherwise you may be stuck with a theme (or start to resemble the Duggars!).
