Ruby, Tabitha or something else?

We have ds Toby aged 3 and are expecting a dd.

Ruby and Tabitha are our favourite names but do you think they sound too similar to Toby? To the point of being a bit twee?

If so, any other suggestions? The other names on our list are Felicity, Eve, Sophie and Maeve, but we don't like them quite as much as Ruby and Tabitha.

My third child was going to be Tabitha and I'm gutted I didn't get to use it!

animcross · 25/09/2018 13:38

Ruby is lovely and I think it goes well with Toby.

I'm not keen on Tabitha.

Shadow1234 · 25/09/2018 13:47

Ruby is nice and it wouldnt bother me personally about being
too matchy. Also like Eve.

Dont really like Tabitha tbh.

Other suggestions:

Matilda
Martha
Ivy
Ava
Sophia rather than Sophie
Lauren
Megan
Imogen
Florence nn florrie, flora, flo
Scarlett
Amelie
Rosa

Both Ruby and Tabitha are too close to Toby in my opinion.

Other suggestions:
Cora
Evelyn/Eva/Evie
Leah
Molly
Nora
Stella
Tessa

Tabitha and Toby sound great together.

bridgetreilly · 25/09/2018 17:18

I would avoid both, tbh. Ruby and Toby or Tabby and Toby are both a bit matchy matchy for me.

I love Felicity. I'd also consider Matilda, Florence or Charlotte.

DaniC18 · 25/09/2018 17:21

I love Tabitha. It isn't similar to Toby at all other than starting with T. However, Ruby and Toby are quite similar with the by endings. I love Maeve as well it's a awesome name x

TheFluffyHippo · 25/09/2018 17:40

Tabitha would presumably get shortened to Tabby. Tabby and Toby are way too similar

I think Ruby and Toby also sound too alike
