Need some help from you lovely lot out there! Our surname is Rose and I’m stuck between either Jesse or Thomas (I’m liking Alexander as the middle name). Votes please!

Jesse. Thomas is so popular (at least amongst 8-10 year old boys here) that it serves little purpose to identify someone.

lilax · 22/09/2018 10:13

Jesse is one of my favourite names. Thomas has been overused in my opinion

MariaYouveGottaSeeHer · 22/09/2018 10:26

I love Jesse and Thomas! I’d wait till you meet him (if you haven’t already?) and then decide which he looks like.

Jesse is more modern / romantic to me, whereas Thomas is a solid classic. Thomas Alexander Rose sounds pretty great. So, if you pushed me to choose, I’d go for Thomas.

Sunflower321 · 22/09/2018 10:55

Jesse as Thomas has become overused.

AnyaMoondial · 22/09/2018 11:05

Hmmmm i really like Jesse but Jesse Rose sounds a little feminine to me.

BikeRunSki · 22/09/2018 11:12

Anya has actually got a very good point.

kettleonplease · 22/09/2018 11:35

I really love Jesse! However I think Jesse Rose together could sound a bit too feminine for a boy

NeepNeepNeep · 22/09/2018 11:37

Ramblyn?

Fozzleyplum · 22/09/2018 11:37

Bear in mind the initials would spell JAR or TAR. Not sure if that's an issue.

littlemisssunshine81 · 22/09/2018 11:54

I’m not sure why JAR or TAR would be an issue? Am I missing something? My initials are JAR too actually :-)

@NeepNeepNeep what/who is Ramblyn?

I like Alexander best of your names!

Thomas rather than Jesse for me - always a classic and it’s dropped out of the top 10 in 2017. And better with Rose, as others have said.

Icklepup · 22/09/2018 12:00

Jesse

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 22/09/2018 12:02

LOVE Jesse.

Shmithecat · 22/09/2018 12:03

Thomas. Lovely name. I don't like Jesse at all. A bit try hard for me.

golddustwomen · 22/09/2018 12:05

LOVE jesse

CallMeRachel · 22/09/2018 12:19

Jesse Rose?? People will be seeing that on paper and will be unsure if it's a male or a female.

At school it's an obvious 'girly' sounding name for being taunted.

Go for Thomas or Alexander.

littlemisssunshine81 · 22/09/2018 12:31

Thanks everyone! Basically overall the responses came out 50/50 which is where I started :-)
I’m not worried about whether or not the Rose bit makes it more feminine as that’s not up for debate but it is interesting to see whether or not people think Jesse is a girls name (really it’s Jessie for a girl and Jesse for a boy). Also point taken that Thomas is way more common..... will figure it out somehow!

Ramblyn Rose. Nevermind.

Sophronia · 23/09/2018 07:15
