What are your thoughts on Cornelia, maybe occassionally shortened to Cory

I like it.

Sessy19 · 22/09/2018 07:55

I just can’t get round the ‘corn’ and associating it with foot growths...sorry!!! It sounds like a virus

Sunflower321 · 22/09/2018 07:57

Beautiful

Babyshark2018 · 22/09/2018 07:57

Sorry I agree with sessy. Also reminds me of a Cornetto...

Cordelia is better I think.

DanielCraigsUnderpants · 22/09/2018 07:59

I like Cory as a NN. But Cornelia reminds me of the cornea in the eye. Also think Cordelia is prettier.

llangennith · 22/09/2018 08:06

Cordelia, Cordie for short.

HairyLegs11 · 22/09/2018 08:13

Cornelia for a girl and Cornelius for a boy. I haven't heard of anyone using those names since the 80's. They always shorten to Con/Connie or Neil/Neilus/Niall and they're usually male.

Heratnumber7 · 22/09/2018 08:18

It'll be Corny, not Cory, so no.

ismellsnow · 22/09/2018 08:21

I much prefer Cordelia with Cordy as a nickname

kiltedsheep · 22/09/2018 08:23

Not for me. I also think it'll end up being shortened to 'corny'.

babswindsor · 22/09/2018 08:25

I have to say that I too much prefer Cordelia, with maybe Coco as nickname

motortroll · 22/09/2018 08:50

I agree with those that said Cordelia is better. I do actually like Cornelia but people will try to call her corny!!

Cordelia is Anne of Green Gables's favoured name. It is in my list for my imaginary 4th girl. My other 3 would heartily support that imaginary decision lol big fans!!

Also it could shorten to deedee which is cute! Or delia for less cute! Or still Cory if you preferred.

Omg now I'm imagining that 4th little baby Cordelia lol

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/09/2018 09:08

Cordelia (Cordy).

bridgetreilly · 22/09/2018 14:24

It makes me think of an old-fashioned maiden aunt who's a bit scary. Sorry.

Pompom42 · 22/09/2018 14:28

I like it a lot. I like Cornelia and Cordelia but think Cordelia sounds slightly posher

Greywind1523 · 22/09/2018 14:32

No , I just can’t get away from the corn/corny that might end up being used as shortenings.

LeeMiller · 22/09/2018 16:26

I prefer Cordelia too. Nick named Cordy, Delia, Coco, Cora, Lia. I like Shakesperean names.

Cornelia sounds wrong to me, my brain expects to hear Cornelius and it reminds me of Planet of the Apes.
