I'm really struggling with baby names and looking for suggestions (for either gender).

I don't like common/popular names, I am trying to find rare/uncommon names that people might not have particularly heard of much before.

So you DO like popular names! With the possible exception of Leonie, none of them are that rare. If you want something rare just say that, don't pretend that you have some magical aversion to the common names.

If you want an uncommon name you'd be better off choosing something like Margaret. (which I like, by the way)

Margaret isn't uncommon! There are loads of adult Margarets out there and it seems be becoming trendy for babies again.

I don't think there are many baby Margarets but I do think it's overdue a comeback.

There have been so many threads in unusual names recently, that I suspect they will cease to be unusual before long.

If you want unusual as in “there Probably won’t be another in his class” go for John, Peter, Sharon or Sarah.

If you want a name that people are unlikely to have heard of, try Eliezer or Moravian.
