I heard the name Asia for a girl yesterday and found it quite interesting.
Does anyone like this?

Er makes me think of Asia Argento... one of the original actresses behind the Harvey Weinstein allegations and she’s recently been accused of sexual misconduct with a young teenage boy. Also it’s a continent not a name. I would avoid.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 12/09/2018 22:03

I like it.

Too soon, OP. Wink

It's a pretty word but I don't like it as a name, no

Think of the potential for teasing: "Have you ever seen the natural wonders of Asia?" "I'm hoping to spend the night in Asia" etc etc

The only Asia I know is a drag queen...

Asia

I’ve only ever known one, pronounced ass-ear

Lucy1103 · 12/09/2018 22:08

It’s very popular in Italy where it’s pronounced ah-see-ah and I find that very pretty but don’t think it sounds as nice in English so no from me Grin

I love Asia. The continent that is. I’ve lived in many Asian countries and I love everything about all of them. I also love dogs, mostly had rescue dogs and I recently saw two rescue Labradors, Asia and Africa and I fell in love. Now, I know you’re thinking, ‘Thanks, it’s a dogs name?’ But yeah, I like it for those positive connotations, so yeah be brave, use it.
