I like Sidi as a shortened name, but what can it be short for?

Elisabeth (Empress Elisabeth of Austria was nicknamed Sisi).

My granny and my mum were both known as Cissy. It is short for Cecelia.

Finding names you like is one challenge then the next challenge is finding one both parents like.

@Grrrooot I discovered Persephone yesterday and love it!

I would be careful of Sisi as it sounds a bit like "you're a sissy". (Sissy = effeminate, cowardly, feeble - look it up).

However, cece / cee cee is fine, and as above, short for Cecelia (Simon, Garfunkel), Celia, Celine, Cecily. Could be Sydney too of course, though that would generally be Syd...

I know a Sisi short for Sienna.

@Sophronia I first thought Sisi was a lovely nickname when I visited Empress Elizabeth's palace in Austria.

I do like Elizabeth but not sure if I like it enough.
