Elisabeth (Empress Elisabeth of Austria was nicknamed Sisi).

My granny and my mum were both known as Cissy. It is short for Cecelia.

NannyR · 11/09/2018 22:42

Cecilia or Cecily.

Mummyamy123 · 11/09/2018 22:43

Cece Short for Cecelia is lovely

MsJolly · 11/09/2018 22:47

It’s Ceci and short for Cecilia

Littleredwagon2308 · 11/09/2018 22:48

Thank you, especially since you deciphered my post what with Sisi getting autocorrected to Sidi!

I like Cecelia it's on my list.

Finding names you like is one challenge then the next challenge is finding one both parents like.

I would be careful of Sisi as it sounds a bit like "you're a sissy". (Sissy = effeminate, cowardly, feeble - look it up).

However, cece / cee cee is fine, and as above, short for Cecelia (Simon, Garfunkel), Celia, Celine, Cecily. Could be Sydney too of course, though that would generally be Syd...

TwitterQueen1 · 11/09/2018 22:53

Simon AND Garfunkel, not a comma!

SummerintoAutumn · 11/09/2018 22:55

I know a Sisi short for Sienna.

Littleredwagon2308 · 11/09/2018 22:57

@Sophronia I first thought Sisi was a lovely nickname when I visited Empress Elizabeth's palace in Austria.

I do like Elizabeth but not sure if I like it enough.
