Below is a list of possible MN's but also open to suggestions. What 2 middle names would you put with Elspeth. Surname is 2 syllables and starts with an M

Possible MN:

Samantha
Harriet
Primrose
Meredith
Florence
Norah
Iris
Emmeline
Emily
Phoebe
Freya
Constance
Olive
Oona
Grace

Elspeth Emily olive

I think most of them flow nicely with Elspeth as long as you close it off with Grace seeing as it’s the only one syllable name on the list.

Elspeth Samantha Grace*
Elspeth Harriet Grace*
Elspeth Primrose Grace*
Elspeth Florence Grace*
Elspeth Norah Grace*
Elspeth Iris Grace*
Elspeth Phoebe Grace
Elspeth Freya Grace
Elspeth Constance Grace
Elspeth Olive Grace*
Elspeth Oona Grace*

are lovely. I’ve starred my favourites in terms of flow but they’re all lovely names - a lot are on my list :)

Inclined to agree with pixieloux before I even saw that post in that you need a one syllable at the end, 1st middle wants to be not too tongue twisting imho as Elspeth is already a few sounds. My preference from the list would be Elspeth Norah Grace M. Very elegant and yet strong from the Elspeth. Let us know what you decide!

Out of all your names, I agree with PP and think that Elspeth Norah Grace has the best ring to it.
Elspeth Ruby Grace
Elspeth Mia Grace

Elspeth Constance Iris.

Grace is a nice name but it's the Louise of our day - everyone's favourite filler middle name (along with Rose). Tbh I'd be a bit disappointed, as a child, that my parents hadn't been more imaginative.

Elspeth is lovely, btw.

yetanothernane · 10/09/2018 07:05

I think go for shorter middle names. So Norah grace or iris grace. I think if you go with 2 longer names you run the risk of it being a bit of a mouthful and it won't fit on forms when she's older.

Elspeth is a lovely name Smile

Several of the names on your list have two syllables, and I think it could sound a bit clunky to have four two-syllable words in a row. So I'd vary the number of syllables.

I'd also avoid too many s or th sounds in the middle names, so they aren't too similar to the first.

Elspeth Harriet Phoebe M.
Elspeth Harriet Clementine M.
Elspeth Caroline Julia M.
Elspeth Victoria Harriet M.
Elspeth Imogen Louisa M.
Elspeth Florence Harriet M.
Elspeth Alexandra Primrose M.
Elspeth Olivia Constance M.
Elspeth Charlotte Felicity M.
Elspeth Phoebe Aurelia M.
Elspeth Jemima Harriet M.
