Names to go with long Greek surname...

Dc will have a five syllable Greek surname (not Papadopolous, but along those lines).

Do you think this is best paired with a very short one/two syllable name to avoid it becoming too much of a mouthful, or does a slightly longer name flow better?

Also, do you think it works best with a Greek name (e.g. Sofia, Elena, Eirini), or could we get away with a non-Greek name e.g. Matilda, Tabitha, Harriet, Caroline etc?

Two Greek girls I know are Elena (she pronounces it Ell-en-a) and Mariana. I think both of those are really pretty.

I think you can use Stella? I don't see why not? But I like alliterated names.
Stella Eirini Stephanopolou sounds great.
My kids have a greek surname and I have given them a two syllable first name.

I know a half greek girl, her name is Ellie.

Shortish works better.

Stella Stephanopolou / Eirini Stephanopolou /Nina Stephanopolou all sound gorgeous, I love Greek names.

Tabitha/Matilda Stephanopolou also work fine though.

Europa
Olympia (Assuming the baby is a girl.)
DS1 was school with Adonis, which is an utterly fab name for a boy.

Em, because if they both chose the first name and they use his last name, then it’s only fair that she has one name from her family too, which would be the middle name.

100% agree with this. Although it doesn't have to be her mother's surname. Could be her mother's middle name, her favourite flower, the name of a person she really admires...

Anyhow:
I really like Elena, Thea and Olympia. Olympia is absolutely gorgeous :)

Other suggestions: Hermione, Melissa, Alexandra, Ariadne and Anthea :)

Penelope and Iris are lovely.
