Eliza or Elena??

So, DH and I have finally narrowed down our list to two names we adore - Eliza and Elena (eh-LAY-na). Mn will be Billie or Serena (family names). Would love to hear your opinions / which you prefer!

Both are lovely, I do know a lot of Elena/Alaynas at the moment at my Dcs school but if you're not bothered about it being popular then it's a beautiful name,
I personally prefer Eliza however and Serena as a MN

I prefer Eliza and I would say Elena Selena definitely doesn't go! Elena Billie is ok though, Eliza goes with both.

Elena Serena is a bit much.

I like the name Elena, I say it how you have written it as we have a friend called that, but I also know someone who pronounces it 'E-len-A' and have to try to remember which one is which.

I prefer it to Eliza although I think both names are pretty (and pretty similar).

I like both names equally, but think you’ll be correcting the pronunciation of Elena a lot of the time. So on that basis I would go with Eliza Billie.

Eliza Serena. I'd have gone for Eliza if DF didn't have a horrible partner called Liz! That's the only things bf though, make sure you're ok with possible future shortenings!

Is Eliza always pronounced El-lie-za or do some people say Eliz-a like Elizabeth?

There's also Elise which is lovely

Both are lovely ! I think Billie goes better as a mn, Serena would make it too many similar sounds imo.

I think Billie goes best with either, prefer Elena but maybe because I once knew an Eliza who was awful and my niece is Elena and she’s so cute!

Love Eliza ! Its been number 1 on my list for a couple of months now, but will not decide her name for definite until she is born, will say though in the time its been on my list I have seen it popping up more and more on the baby name board and other parenting websites, seems to be growing quickly in popularity.

Eliza. Too much scope for mispronunciation with Elena, even though it's a nice name.
