Aurelius as a MN?

SuperGlowBug · 05/09/2018 11:38

DH is very into his history and would love to use Aurelius as a MN after Marcus Aurelius.

I'm not against it and quite like the 'golden' meaning what with being an Autumn baby...

Is it a bit much though?

As a middle name I think it's nice - I wouldn't go for it as a first name purely as it's hard to shorten, but I like it as a MN.

Is baby a wizard?

Cosmoa · 05/09/2018 13:45

We were going to use Aurelius as a first name for our 3 month old if she had been a boy! I like the nickname Auri too ❤️

So no.. I don't think it's too much personally. But I think it actually works better as a first name!

Cosmoa · 05/09/2018 13:46

You could also have Ray as a nickname.. Don't think it's hard to shorten at all!

Sunflower321 · 05/09/2018 13:55

Love Aurelius! I also know an Aurelien (French)

TatianaLarina · 05/09/2018 15:16

It’s gorgeous and I love Greek and Roman names - but I do think it might be a bit much for everyday life. Middle name?

SuperGlowBug · 05/09/2018 17:03

Yes it would be a middle name (MN)

I’d be inclined to let DH have it if he cares that much. A funky middle name is quite fun.

Xiaoxiong · 06/09/2018 09:18

No it's wonderful!! I wanted Tiberius but we had too many middle names Grin

DC06 · 06/09/2018 10:14

I really like it! Love Aurelius and Aurelia as first names but it flows well after Marcus x

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 06/09/2018 10:17

I like it. It reminds me of my old headmaster who used to read Marcus Aurelius to us in assembly each week. He was an eccentric.

Cosmoa · 06/09/2018 11:12

@Xiaoxiong haha Tiberius was on our list as well as Aurelius and also Tidus! ❤️

Xiaoxiong · 06/09/2018 11:26

Cosmoa - Star Trek fan by any chance? Wink

BlancheM · 06/09/2018 14:25

Love it
I'd probably go for Rex Aurelius: golden king. Might as well go swimming if you're going to get wet!

MumUnderTheMoon · 06/09/2018 14:30

I think it's a lovely name. Do you know what first name your going to use then you can see how it all flows with your surname.

SuperGlowBug · 06/09/2018 15:41

Our first name is unusual too, but not yooneek or wacky, iyswim. It’s Scottish, two syllables and has been mentioned on these boards a bit, gets thumbs up from everyone. It’s a bit outing as a whole name though if we decide to use it!
