Marceline?

What do you think of that name? Alternatively, do you know of any other names that are somewhat similar? We like names that have a magical/fantasy-like quality to them and yet aren't too "out there" if that makes sense. Thanks!

what about aurora or phoebe? they are both magical sounding. for the name marceline, would it be shortened to marcy?

sleepismysuperpower1 · 04/09/2018 14:36

or pippa?

oldbirdy · 04/09/2018 14:37

Marceline is the vampire queen on Adventure Time. Because it's such an uncommon name and Adventure Time is a pretty popular kids' show, it's likely she'll be given that link and have to manage it. Up to you if you think it's worth it.

SinglePringle · 04/09/2018 14:37

Makes me think of Parceline. Apologies.

WildCherryBlossom · 04/09/2018 14:41

Celeste or Celestia are magical sounding Angelina or Angelica (too Hollywood?). I prefer Marcella to Marceline. I'm afraid to me it sounds like something from the Chemists (sort of between Mabelline and Vaseline)

Peachbubble · 04/09/2018 15:03

I Marcella better. I know one aged 8.

Peachbubble · 04/09/2018 15:04

like

I've never encountered it before but it is making me think of Maybelline including their little jingle. I'm not sure on how to pronounce it but basing it on Maybelline I'm thinking Mar - cell - eeen.

iklboo · 04/09/2018 15:12

I thought Marceline the Vampire Queen too. I like it, but kids might make the Adventure Time connection (although she's a pretty cool character).

MollyHuaCha · 04/09/2018 15:13

Enmeline?

MaryBoBary · 04/09/2018 15:34

I have never heard of that name before. I don’t dislike it but it almost doesn’t sound like a real name to me. What about Marcella (pronounced with an s sound rather than a ch)? I think it’s really pretty and love the nn Marcie.

LeeMiller · 04/09/2018 15:54

Marcie is nice, I agree Marceline sounds a little like a product name and prefer Marcella.

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 04/09/2018 20:54

Marcelline is the French equivalent of Brenda, Maureen, Doreen etc.

Ginger1982 · 04/09/2018 20:59

What about Marsali?

purplepandas · 04/09/2018 21:04

Seraphine is similar I think.

Halfahunnerstillastunner · 04/09/2018 23:09
