How popular really is Freddie? I love the name but worried it's too popular now

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes I have heard a lot of Freds and Freddies in the Midlands in the past year. Way overused IMO. Nice enough name though.

We have a 2.5 year old DS and when I was pregnant we both loved the name Freddie but bypassed it because we thought it was too popular. I am yet to meet one other child called Freddie in our area, but have met several of the name we chose which is just outside of the top 100.

Freddie is a great name.

I think it is a little bit overused where I live. Of the half dozen boys I know who have been born in the past couple of years, three are called Freddie.

Freddie is fine as long as your last name isn't Kruger.Grin

Very popular in east mids. How about Frank/Frankie as a similar alternative?

Sunflower321 · 02/09/2018 08:45

Yes, quite overused and cutesy.

I know of two young Freddies.
