I personally think of someone stubborn, intelligent and a little bit mischievous but would like to hear your thoughts?

I know of someone who spells this a different way, with an x on the end (a bit like gateaux iyswim but unsure on exact spelling). I think that looks good too.

bridgetreilly · 30/08/2018 21:14

Beautiful, ethereal - Margot Fonteyn.

Lucy1103 · 30/08/2018 21:14

@SunshineOutdoors Margaux? I do like how it looks but I think I prefer the original and DH has labelled it pretentious. Didn’t think you could get more pretentious than Margot but what can I say Grin

A middle class child from Hackney who calls her parents by their first names.

MaisyPops · 30/08/2018 21:16

I imagine her to be almost exactly like Margot from The Good Life
Same. I love Margot.

SoyDora · 30/08/2018 21:17

What villainousbroodmare said. A glamorous, dark haired ballerina.

Lucy1103 · 30/08/2018 21:18

@ThisIsNotARealAvo haha. She won’t be calling us by our first names but fair enough!

snap @ThisIsNotARealAvo definitely hipster parents. vegan.

delphguelph · 30/08/2018 21:19

Willowy.

AhHaaa · 30/08/2018 21:20

In my part of the country it would be considered snooty and pretentious and likely to be ostracised and picked on as a result. But personally I like it. I think strong, intelligent, resilient.

JillCrewesmum · 30/08/2018 21:20

Dark haired
Clumsy
Loves trad.jazz
Has a parrot as a pet

Lindah1 · 30/08/2018 21:20

I think Anne Frank's sister too. It's beautiful

DrDiva · 30/08/2018 21:21

No one’s mentioned Despicable Me??!
(I love Margot in the films!) Grin

MadisonAvenue · 30/08/2018 21:22

Haughty, spoilt, posh.

MaisyPops · 30/08/2018 21:22

AhHaaa
Sadly in some places in my area that would also be the case.
A Margot at the school I taught in wouldn't raise an eyebrow.
A Margot at a school I used to teach would be picked on for being a posh c u next Tuesday who must think she's better than everyone else even if she was the nicest, most down to earth girl in the school.

SparkyBlue · 30/08/2018 21:31

An elegant glamorous lady

Faster · 30/08/2018 21:33

Kind, desert dry sense of humour, loyal, intelligent. Well the one I know is.

cariadlet · 30/08/2018 21:53

My instant association is with Margot from The Good Life so am probably influenced by that.

I would expect a Margot to be in her 50s or older, posh, not much sense of humour, probably a bit horsey.

Racecardriver · 30/08/2018 21:55

Intelligent, cultured, elegant, a little bit dark and mysterious, slightly artistic, slightly sensitive but fiercely in dependant.

Lucy1103 · 30/08/2018 22:00

@cariadlet haha I always thought of Margot as horsey too until the name grew on me (clearly in a huge way)

MeyMary · 30/08/2018 22:12

Competent, intelligent, confident, capable, occasionally a bit aimless.

Athletic but not particularly graceful. Idk why, tbh...Confused

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 30/08/2018 22:17

OP you pretty much described my Margot.
She is very strong willed and we do but heads but she is also very kind, caring and helpful.
She is beautiful, has curly blonde hair and has that cool French girl vibe.
I couldn’t think of a better name for her.

MaryBoBary · 30/08/2018 22:22

It is my middle name and I hated it when I was younger as it was so unusual and old ladyish. But now I’m in my late twenties I like it more. And I don’t think it’s so unusual now either.

sue51 · 30/08/2018 22:22

Cultured, artistic and intelligent. I like it.

Lucy1103 · 30/08/2018 22:22

@BriocheBriocheBrioche she sounds lovely xx And even your username is apt to her name
