Why are baby boy names so much harder?!?

I really like uncommon (not unusual!) names

Can anyone offer any ideas I feel like I'm really struggling 😩

So far I like Wilf and Evan 💙💙

Our son is called Rumi after a 13th century Persian poet. My wife is half Iranian. He's famous for love poems, one of his poems was read at our wedding. No one has ever heard of it when we tell people his name.

Half the names on this thread are pretty current common names, the problem is when looking for a 'nice but not overused' name so are half the other expectant mums, so you're often just picking the next 'trendy name' anyway by choosing an unusual one. (eg. Cora, rory/ruairi, arlo were uncommon a few years back)

Best to focus on what names you like and ignore popularity, the occasionally heard ones are less likely to spike in popularity than an underused one.

@ZigZagZebras fair point but never heard another one of my ds or dds names apart from adults and neither of them are out there names, pretty traditional really. So I think it is possible xx
