We've so far got it narrowed down to either Keziah or Ada for a girl but we're struggling more for boys.

Our shortlist for a boys is:

  • Micah
  • Enoch
  • Eliah
  • Eden
  • Abdi
  • Isaiah

Don't use Abdi (Abdy) if you are coming to Scotland. It means everybody. You don't want to be visiting and shouting "Abdi", everyone will stop and turn thinking you're calling on them. I like Keziah for a girl although I don't think Ada is too similar to Dinah if that's your favourite. I know three girls called Eden and always think of it as a girls name.

I live in Scotland so I know what you mean Bluebell but I pronounce Abdi like 'Ahbdee' and that would be 'aebudee/aebuday'.
(I also don't think I know anybody that speaks like that below the age of like 60 Shock)

We'd pronounce Keziah like 'kezeeuh'

I'm not too bothered about it sounding similar to Abel and Tamar but there's going to be less than a year between new baby and Dinah so I suspected it might get annoying for them when they are older if there names are too matchy.

Much prefer ada to your other choice, not at all similar to existing name

@PizzanCat I'm in Dundee... most of the population talk in the dialect. I do like Micah though
