Not sure what we're having yet, but what are your thoughts on the following names...

Romy for a girl or Jonah for a boy?

I like both. Both unusual but not too unusual / out there.

user1486956786 · 20/08/2018 12:26

I also think remy is a sweet name for a girl

AtticaRose · 20/08/2018 12:27

Romy - just met a baby one of these recently. I think my first question was "is it short for anything?" Which it was not. It's quite cute - not my taste but grows on you.

Jonah - very nice. (To be avoided if last name is an object, e.g. Jonah Car...)

Growingboys · 20/08/2018 12:27

Romy is pretty, Jonah is ugly

camcan · 20/08/2018 12:38

@user1486956786 That's the aim! And I really like Remy too...

@AtticaRose 😂 at Jonah Car (thankfully we wouldn't have that issue!)

Jonah Carr and his sister Iona Carr. ;-)

Sharkwithknees · 20/08/2018 12:53

My friend's son is Jonah and I love it!

Really sorry but they are both horrible

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/08/2018 13:43

Love Romy.Jonah is ok, don't love it but it's alright.

SuperstarDJ · 20/08/2018 14:05

I prefer Romilly with Romy as a nn.

Jonah is OK but I prefer Joah.

PinkAvocado · 20/08/2018 14:07

I’ve known a boy and a girl called Rhomey/Romy and it suited both. Also like pp suggestion of Romilly. Jonah is nice too.

BertrandRussell · 20/08/2018 14:12

I think Jonah sounds nice but it has such horrible associations.

SaoirseTheSeahorse · 20/08/2018 14:32

Nice choices! I especially like Jonah. I like Romy but prefer some similar sounding names (Rose, Romilly, Rosalie).

Imaketherules · 20/08/2018 14:33

Oooh I like them. Am a tad envious now!

Takfujimoto · 20/08/2018 14:40

Romy sounds like an unfinished word to me Confused prefer Romilly like op.

Jonah is meh, a bit mormanish to me.

ReginaPhalange89 · 20/08/2018 15:21

I actually quite like them, which I find surprising haha. I'm much more of a traditional name type . Romy I'm not too sure about but my initial thought was it's cute. Really like Jonah actually , might have to add that to my list !

Goostacean · 20/08/2018 16:08

Like Jonah.

Don’t like Romy. Feels like a nickname, haven’t heard of it before... Meh. I like that it seems quite gender-neutral, can be useful as a woman. That’s probably not a selling point from the point of view of a parent though! I wouldn’t choose it, personally.

But as usual, if you love it- use it! :)

Icklepup · 20/08/2018 18:56

I like Romy and also Roma.
Jonah I dislike.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 20/08/2018 18:57

I love Romy.

Dislike Jonah,

daisypond · 20/08/2018 19:00

I like Romy but I think Romilly is much nicer. I don't like Jonah at all - it's a word in the dictionary - means jinx/bringer of bad luck.

moredoll · 21/08/2018 02:40

I like Romy.
I dislike Jonah.

RedDwarves · 21/08/2018 11:10

Like Romy, don't like Jonah.

Flamingosnbears · 21/08/2018 11:15
