What are your thoughts? I've always loved the name "lily" so will definitely be using that as a NN. I just don't like how popular Lily has become recently.

It's usually spelled Lilia. I quite like Lilia but I prefer Lilian.

CatPatrol · 18/08/2018 20:30

When I was at school it was the name of a brand of tampon.

MissBax · 18/08/2018 20:32

It was my number 1 name when expected DD , until I heard Leanne Brown's (real housewives of Cheshire) daughter had that name. After that I couldn't not hear it as chavvy Blush

Sidenote - I do appreciate the irony of this considering I watch RHWC

Lilia was on my list for a girl.

I love any Lily associated names (Lilia, Lilian etc) I think they're all beautiful

TatianaLarina · 18/08/2018 20:42

It’s just a version of Lily.

Marcipex · 18/08/2018 21:10

Tampons.

TiffinBox · 18/08/2018 21:17

I know a Liliana which is similar and classier.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/08/2018 22:08

It's a very pretty name but if you're going to use Lily day to day you can't be that bothered about popularity. Therefore why not just call her lily.
To be honest I don't see lIly as a nn for Lillia
To me they are 2 completely different names. Like I wouldn't shorten Clara to Clare Anna to Anne.

BonnieLass5 · 18/08/2018 22:21

Lilys are everywhere. She’s likely to be at least one of four in her school class. For me, it’s not a strong name. It’s not to my taste.

Lilia is okay. I prefer Lilian.

Rebecca36 · 18/08/2018 22:23

Sounds like a tampon.
Lily is nice.

butlerswharf · 18/08/2018 22:45

I know one and I think it's a lovely name. I might have used it myself if I wasn't so close to the one I know.
