Middle name for Esther

What would you use as a middle name for Esther?

I love the flow of Grace and May, but both of these feel like 'filler' names and are a bit too common as middle names for what we're looking for.

I think you’re on the right lines with a one syllable name. It sounds ‘right’.

Love some of these suggestions. Surname will be three syllables, so a single syllable or short middle name probably works best.

I wish May wasn't quite so popular, the month has such meaning to us.

What do people think of Joy as a middle name? I'm not sold on it, but it's a potential, not sure if it's a bit too 'twee'.

Funny you ask, OP, my first thought on reading the OP was Esther Joy! I like it :) Not too twee, a beautiful traditional name- and I’m sure appropriate as your baby will bring you great joy! 👍🏻

Theunmumsymummy · 18/08/2018 10:16

Louise?
Esther Louise seems to flow quite well.

Goostacean · 18/08/2018 10:17

Mind you, if May has meaning - maybe go for that? Esther is quite an unusual name, I doubt you’ll meet another Esther May.

Otherwise:
Esther Ann
Esther Clare
Esther Elle (not convinced)
Esther Hope
Esther Kay
Esther Pearl
Esther Quinn (bit out there!)
Esther Rae
Esther Yves

I think May is fine with Esther, if it has meaning for you. I know a teenage Esther who has May as a middle name.

Esther Flo

Go for May/Mae if it has meaning for you and don't worry about popularity.

For the record I think Esther Rose sounds prettiest.

I like Joy as a middle name. I know a little Delilah Joy and think it's adorable.

Esther Joy sounds nice. I quite like Esther Kate too.

Joy

I have a Madeleine joy so I am biased

Backhometothenorth · 19/08/2018 13:10

Hello- I have an almost two year old Esther - we used Rose as a middle name as it is a shortened version of my name. Think it sounds lovely and it doesn't matter that it is often a 'filler' name as it has meaning and is still such an unusual combination. We also liked May, Grace, Joy and June. Lovely name choice OP.
