I know a Nicole. 22 and absoloulty bloody lovely

BabloHoney · 16/08/2018 20:27

Love Nicole, one of my favourite girl names but unfortunately it doesn’t go with our surname! Gorgeous and I think it’s timeless

GlitterGlassEye · 16/08/2018 20:30

I know a Nicole in her early 20’s. She’s fab. Also much nicer than Nicola imo. We do shout “papa” at her now and again but that would hold no relevance to a new generation.

Fluffybat · 16/08/2018 20:41

I know a Nicole in her 20s and she is beautiful. The most thoughtful and kind person I know.

mummymathsteacher · 16/08/2018 20:44

My sister is a Nicole. She's not always lovely! It's a great name though as you have a lot of choice of nicknames. Also, most people under 30 do not know the papa reference.

Enidblyton1 · 16/08/2018 20:44

Papa Grin

I like it

Aprilshowersinaugust · 16/08/2018 20:44

Papa??

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/08/2018 20:44

It's lovely. Never met one at all.

Enidblyton1 · 16/08/2018 20:45

Agree with pp that it’s a fairly timeless name

Winifredgoose · 16/08/2018 20:46

I think it is a beautiful name. We have just had a third boy, but Nicole was one of our favourite girls names.

IsabelleSE19 · 16/08/2018 20:46

One of the popular girls at my primary school was called Nicole thirty years ago, and despite that I've always liked the name Smile. She was actually quite nice, which I suppose is why she was popular.

BE18mum · 16/08/2018 20:46

I think it’s lovely (although I have no idea what the papa thing is!)

Jelly67 · 16/08/2018 20:49

Lovely Smile You can't really go wrong with it. It's well known but not boring or common

BellMcEnd · 16/08/2018 20:49

I really like it as well. I was at school with a Nicole right at the time of the Papa? Niiiiiiiiiicole!!! adverts which although was probably a bit tedious for her would have very little relevance now.

It's kind of 80s and I knew a Nicole when I was young and just have memories of her mum hollering 'NICAAAAAWWWWL' at her. But I do actually love it, and it's one of those names that would suit a baby, toddler, teenager and adult. And also not totally ubiquitous nor totally out there.

Its a great name actually Smile

Lovetocycle · 16/08/2018 20:56

Love it. Isn't that name of baby in hand maid's tale? I think that makes it cooler

Justask · 16/08/2018 20:57

I've got a Nicole as DD. It's a lovely name and not so popular that there are lots of them. I think it suited her when she was little and will also be a good name as an adult

IvyandStan · 16/08/2018 21:00

I have a teenage Nicole 🙂love the name.

Pudding01 · 16/08/2018 21:08

Wow, great response so far! 🙂

I know one Nicole, who is in her 20s, very nice, well spoken and gorgeous hair. She does get called Nicola a lot but I think that's just down to other people's ignorance... She hates being called Nic though, which I get, as Nicole is a very pretty name... What other nicknames are there??

I've never heard of the papa thing, I'll have to look that up! Papa as a nn is pretty cool though lol

My DD is Erin. My two favourite girls names at the moment are Lucy & Isobel. Maybe Nicole deserves a spot up there too 🙌

Love the name Nicole.

Smoliver · 16/08/2018 21:12

Love the name. I sadly cannot use it, but if I could use it then I would Smile Also, love Lucy and Isobel.

WhatsYourFuckingProblem · 16/08/2018 21:13

My DD is a Nicole too, I love the name.

WhatsYourFuckingProblem · 16/08/2018 21:15

DD’s nickname is not even a shortening of Nicole, it’s something else completely.
Her friends sometimes call her Nici which I hate, Nic isn’t so bad but we personally never, ever call her that. She’s always Nicole or nickname.

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 16/08/2018 21:16

I'm of exactly the right vintage to immediately think of 'Papa?' But honestly, this won't apply to most people - not those younger and not a lot of those older. I'm not that keen on it personally, but it's pretty and sophisticated, so why not?

Waitingtomove · 16/08/2018 21:25

My DD is called Nicole. It’s a great name only one other Nicole in DDs school. Don’t like that her friends call her Nic or Nicki I stick with either Nicole or sometimes Coles
