Albert or Arthur?

Just that really. Which do you prefer? His middle name will be James with a double barrelled but not complicated surname.

I like Art and Bert as shortenings.

I prefer Arthur.

Arthur definitely

silverliningsa · 16/08/2018 11:41

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/08/2018 11:43

Arthur 100%

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 16/08/2018 11:44

Albert- albi is cute.

OneOfEach2 · 16/08/2018 11:54

Really not keen on Albie - I know once he starts school we won't have any influence on nicknames though. Which is a stumbling block for choosing Albert.

Arthur.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/08/2018 12:22

Arthur, not keen on Albert.

DuggeeHugs · 16/08/2018 12:26

Sophronia · 16/08/2018 17:49

Arthur

iklboo · 16/08/2018 17:51

I met the world's cutest little boy yesterday who was called Arthur - Artie for short. We had a nice long conversation about the bin being dirty and his blue socks Grin (I think he was about 2).

OneOfEach2 · 16/08/2018 18:37

@iklboo ah I love stories like that. I'm very drawn to Art as a name in its own... OH isn't quite sold though.

I love both names
Arthur. Art

Albert. Bertie

HJL2506 · 16/08/2018 18:43

Much prefer Arthur.

FrameyMcFrame · 16/08/2018 21:06

Albie is nicer than Artie though....

FrameyMcFrame · 16/08/2018 21:07

Also Bert and Bertie are lovely too

TheSheepofWallSt · 16/08/2018 21:10

I have an Albert- goes by Bertie as a daily name, Berts, B and The Great Alberto affectionately.

Personally I still love it- never had a minutes regret- but it is a marmite name.

OneOfEach2 · 16/08/2018 21:40

I like Art and Bert. Bertie is ok but I don't tend to like names that end in 'ie' or 'y' so wouldn't necessarily plump for Artie either.

I definitely prefer Arthur. I don't really like Albert or any of its diminutives.

pouraglasshalffull · 17/08/2018 14:46

Arthur-James matches a lot more than Albert and flows more too, definitely Arthur

DragonCat · 17/08/2018 22:52

Sorry, neither. Arnold?

pilates · 17/08/2018 22:56

Albert
