DS2 needs a name!

I’ve just found out my twins are B/G twins.

For a girl we love Beatrice. Boys names however we are struggling to agree. I like Sebastian which DP hates!

So far we have

Beatrice and Edward
Beatrice and Charles
Beatrice and Arthur

We already have DS1 who has a three syllable traditional name (along the lines of Benjamin, Dominic etc). Our surname is short (think Cox, Parkes, Smith) so we want the first name to be fairly long to balance it out.

Can anyone suggest anything else? And out of those what is the favourite?

They're a bit old fashioned for me but of the 3 I'd probably choose Arthur

What about Alexander, Christopher, Benjamin, Samuel, Thomas ?

Chocolatecake12 · 14/08/2018 07:26

From your choices I like Edward the best.
Other suggestions to go with Beatrice
Nathaniel
Zachary
Joshua
Timothy
William
Alexander
Robert
Christopher

ReginaPhalange89 · 14/08/2018 07:34

Theo/Theodore?

Pudding01 · 14/08/2018 07:35

Charles goes with Beatrice the best, in my opinion.

Samuel
Frederick
Rupert
Henry
Hugo
Alexander

Oddsocksforeveryone · 14/08/2018 07:43

I think Charles is my favourite from the list, but I love Sebastian.
My suggestions are:
Elijah
Jasper
Lucian

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 14/08/2018 07:44

I like Theodore but DP thinks it’s “funny”. Same with Henry. We both like Alexander but don’t really like “Alex”. Same with Benjamin and “Ben”, although it’s growing on me.

Christopher I quite like!

Daniel
Rowan
Francis

Leicesterpiggott · 14/08/2018 07:47

If you don't like Alex as a nn for Alexander then what about Zander? Also Theo and Bea sound great. Or Louis? Zachary?

MISHGS · 14/08/2018 08:00

Xavier?

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 14/08/2018 08:02

Xander is a great nickname and one we hadn’t considered. Will pitch that to DP. Xavier is also quite nice.

Zander* not Xander! Was reading two posts at once lol.

MISHGS · 14/08/2018 08:37

Sorry posted too early! Zander is a lovely nn, I also love Xavier and maybe Maxwell?

Quangot · 14/08/2018 08:46

I like Charles and Edward.

Beatrice and...

Isaac
Edwin
George
Oliver
Jacob
Alistair
Richard
Daniel
Antony
Caspar
Samuel
Luke
James
Matthew
Joseph
Thomas
Peter

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 14/08/2018 08:56

I like Caspar but DP calls it me due to me being quite pale so I doubt it’s an option 🤣

I like Richard too but DP thinks he will get called Dick. I like lots of names but he is so picky!

I love Arthur too, but there is an American actress called Beatrice Arthur - don't know if that is an issue. She has much more name recognition in the states.

Maybe call them Arthur and Beatrice! Grin

Of all the Richard's I've ever met, not a single one has been called Dick Grin

Quangot · 14/08/2018 09:42

Ignore the apostrophe in the plural of Richard. Autocorrect gets too big for its boots sometimes HmmGrin

Jonathan?

LarkDescending · 14/08/2018 10:56

Xander is right for the spelling, much more common than Zander.
How about Nathaniel/Tobias/William?

Scabetty · 14/08/2018 13:53

Elliott
Nathaniel
Christopher nn Kit
Barnaby

starkid · 14/08/2018 13:55

Congratulations! Shame about Sebastian as it was the name I thought of first when I read Beatrice.

From your list I like Edward, and from others mentioned you've liked, I like Alexander (nn Xander) and Christopher too.
