Name Help!

I am 15 week’s pregnant with no 2. We aren’t finding out the sex. We have a boys name sorted but we are struggling with the girls name.

I would really like to use Molly for a middle name as my my grandmas are Mary and Margaret and Molly is a pet name for both! Any ideas for a first name? We really like traditional classic names.

Our little boy is called William Rupert.

Thank you for your help!

Molly is a lovely name, I think it's lovely for a first named.

Elizabeth Molly?

Hosbird · 12/08/2018 07:45

I do like Molly as a first name. I just don’t know if it sounds a bit cutesy. somebody else in the family is Elizabeth and we also have a Charlotte in the family.

Our favourites at the moment is Philippa Molly or Isabelle Molly

Thanks for your suggestions so far!

Milly Molly (Mandy)? Grin

AtticaRose · 12/08/2018 08:18

I personally wouldn't go for Philippa in case you end up with Phil and Will! (You might not call them this but they'll have more control over their nicknames when they're older.)

Isabelle is nice, depends whether popularity bothers you.

Caroline

Annabel
Natasha

All work with Molly and with William.

Would you not consider Molly as a first name.

MikeUniformMike · 12/08/2018 13:41

Not Isabelle. So many Isabels, Isabelles and Isabellas. Will be shortened to Izzy, which I don't like.
I'd use Molly as the first name.

My 22 year old cousin is molly and it suits her lovely. I also know of an elderly lady called molly :)

Firtreefir · 12/08/2018 16:14

I'm a Philippa and I absolutely hate it! It's such an ugly name - don't burden your beautiful baby girl with it.

Isabelle is far nicer.

Firtreefir · 12/08/2018 16:14

(As is Molly)

What is the name you’ve chosen if it’s a boy?

I ask because I have a William, and am expecting DS2 and am really struggling with names.

RavenWings · 12/08/2018 17:59

Definitely not Philippa - as a pp said, Phil and Will! Isabelle is ok but very blah and overdone.

I love the name Molly. I'd used it as a first name

Hosbird · 16/08/2018 06:42

Thank you for all your comments

I think I’m coming around to the idea of Molly as a first name but like a longer middle name - any suggestions? We can’t have Elizabeth as that has already been taken in the family and so has Annabel and Charlotte.

I think a longer middle name would help me with the cutesy sound of Molly.

If we have a boy, the name we have chosen to go with William is Samuel George :-)

Samuel George is lovely.

How about Molly Annelise?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/08/2018 12:02

Samuel George is great, good solid name.
I like Molly Matilda.
